Does Mizzous Bowl Ban Get Lifted?

What does the rant think?
Sankey said today it'd be a "big opportunity" for the NCAA to overturn it.
Multiple media personalities and politicians have came out saying the NCAA needs to make it right with the latest comments made by Greg McIlroy saying what the NCAA did to Mizzou "was a complete joke and absolutely ridiculous".
I haven't seen one media outlet, big ranking official or publication saying they agreed Mizzous punishment fit the crime.
So, in your honest opinion, is this bowl ban going to get flipped?
(Still cant believe they let a KU grad decide what our punishment was)

I don't think anybody here has any actual knowledge on whether it will or not.
I hope it does. Missouri has a good team this year and bowl bans are dumb as frick.

You cheated. The penalty for said cheating is a bowl ban. Pay the penalty and quit bitching. Do you really care about the meineke car care bowl that much?

No idea. I don't think it's garnered much attention outside of the SEC so there's not much pressure on the NCAA to soften the blow. However, sometimes that's a better situation for a school appealing a punishment because there's less ego involved and that can make it easier to overturn.
I honestly think it's a coin flip at this point.

Who is your team?
Secondly, 3 players receiving tutoring from Yolanda Kumar that none of the coaches or current players were around at the time warrant them getting a postseason ban?
Also, look into Yolanda Kumar. She is a career "I'm going to sue you type" and this was a plot to get money out of Mizzou.

Whether this is true or not is irrelevant.
The players involved have been interviewed.
Punishment deals a lot with those interviews. Especially if the corroborate her story.

My question, is was the bowl ban included since the basketball program had just recently been investigated separately for violations along with the academic issues? If it was just for the academic violations, I think the bowl ban was a bit much. That is, if your staff indeed found it and helped the NCAA investigate it.
I personally know a lady who worked as a student in a 1-AA (FCS program then but now an FBS program) athletic department back in the 80's who says she wrote papers for a few athletes over her years there. If it can happen there, it could probably happen anywhere.

Another point is this...
North Carolina did way worse by making fake classes for student athletes and denied every bit of it and the NCAA didnt do shite.
Mizzou cooperated, fixed, went head over heels for the NCAA by doing everything asked of them and get nailed with this extreme punishment. The NCAA is setting a dangerous precedent of just deny everything and frick the NCAA cause they will frick you.

The mizzou softball was allowed so I think football will too.

What's the difference in a school tutor writing a paper for a student-athlete and a regular student writing a paper for him?
A student can make bank writing papers at the last minute for lazy students who procrastinate.

NCAA is gonna go NFL style and give Mizzou an even longer ban just for bothering them with an appeal.

I hope the Georgia member on the review board helps. It seems most of the SEC is behind us.

The most illogical possible decision would be for the NCAA to keep its ruling thus insuring no university ever again cooperates with them...therefore they will keep the ruling because no organization is more corrupt and illogical than the NCAA.

I vote that it should be lifted. It'll help the Tigers to be less mad when they come into Athens this year. I believe Missouri's a real threat this year, a darkhorse to be wary of.
