I say yes.

They need to leave that poor guy alone and let him do his job. 5 losses would just motivate him. He would deserve a raise if that's the case.

Auburn will go 10-3 this year with a win over one of Bama or Georgia, maybe even both.
It's what Gus does.

Depends on the losses. Were they blowouts? Close games etc..
And it depends on who they lose to.

It’s odd year Auburn, they’re gonna go 11-1 and beat Alabama and Aubie fans will love him again

IF things start to click, as much as it would frustrate me, Auburn has an athletic defense and some promising young talent at QB. They always have stupid straight line speed at WR, too. I do think their weakness will be depth, and that is hard to form, so we shall see. It's a toss up, just like most years.
I forgot to answer the question: 5 losses would warrant a firing, but I'm not sure of the contract situation. Who knows how that would be handled, money does odd things to a lot of minds.

Yep. There's no way he survives another 8-5 season.

We are such a diverse athletic program. Our tolerance is a bit more than schools who only excell at one sport. He will be here a while.

He will get fired on September 29th after a 24 point loss at home to the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
He will then proceed to get into the restaurant industry by purchasing a couple of Gus's World Famous fried chicken restaurants. I think we see him on SEC network some too. He'll be good at post game analysis, but not pregame analysis.

No, the GusBus will continue to roll in 2020 if the 2019 team loses 5 games.
Guaranteed, just like 75% of that $50M contract.

I doubt he'd survive 8-5 because I'd assume it includes loses to LSU, bama and uga and likely MSU.

So you are right. I think people are underestimating us based on the QB but I think either guy is going to ball. There will be a learning curve and some growing pains, but we have a ton of talent at RB and WR. The Oline is what will make or break our season. We return all 5 starters, The Tackles are good, I'm hoping we have improved in the middle. If the Oline stays healthy I think we make a run. If we start having injuries on the Oline we are in for it and Gus is gone.
On the Defensive side of the ball, We are going to be legit. Dline will be a top 5 unit in the country...no doubt. And there is depth on the Dline as well. Secondary will be good...athletes all over...and decent depth not great...LB is the weak spot on Defense because we lost all 3 starters...well that is true but the guys we have stepping in have adequate PT and are all actually better athletes than the previous 3. KJ Britt will be a beast at MLB, and then we have Wooten, McClain and Pappoe who will be bidding for PT as well. All 3 are freakish athletes...I think LB is a strength by midseason.
As for the OP question...I think it depends on a couple of things:
1. Who we lose to and who we beat. I think only way possible he stays with 5 losses is if we win LSU,Bama and UGA. We need a sweep of rivals for him to stay and even then that means he loses 5 games to lesser opponents which isnt really any better so he still may be fired.....Actually as im writing this...let me rephrase....if he loses 5 hes gone
