Bizarre comment by a Gump I encountered today

I had a conference in Mobile and stopped off to get gas on the way home. While at the pump the guy next to me saw my Louisiana plate and struck up a conversation about LSU football with me. He then proceeded to say “Well, Wade better get it figured out or it’s gonna be 9 in a row for y’all this year.” I looked at him a bit dumbfounded and explained to him that Wade is our basketball coach and Ed Orgeron is our football coach. The guy said he didn’t follow basketball (go figure) and had heard a lot about Will Wade and just assumed he was our football coach. How out of the loop are y’all in Bama?

I believe it, because I have a lot of family from Alabama who don't give a shite about sports, but are friendly and will still use sports to strike up a conversation, using what little they believe to be true.
