Nobody’s gonna argue we are a top job, but I believe this ranking was trying to be a little unconventional or controversial with its top choice.

South Carolina has good in state recruiting to the point where they can still field talented teams even with Clemson and Georgia recruiting in their backyard.

I don't know about that. Steve Spurrier was able to beat Georgia and Clemson in recruiting and that resulted in one of the program's best runs.

That state can only support one great program. Unfortunately, it's supporting those potatoes tards at Clemson at the moment

I would put South Carolina behind every SEC school not named Vanderbilt.

Dreg heap of a town and a program with zero history of winning.

They were on the doorstep of a national title appearance in 2011 despite being a historically second fiddle program sharing a state with arguably a top two program in college football history.

T. Boone has pumped a shitload of money into that program and is probably the only reason Mike Gundy is still there.

Still a top 40 recruiter, second fiddle in-state, nice program, and it is. I get the -money is everything-mantra, but the amount of success they've had could have been done without Pickens' gifts. The right coach at the right time and think about the league they're in..

You would think that, but Clemson gets very few of its star players from instate. Deshaun, Trevor Lawrence, Sammy Watkins, etc. were all out of state guys.

SC has proven with the right coach they can be really good. Imagine if Spurrier would've cared about recruiting

No, it absolutely would not have been done without the money. I don't think you have any idea how poor their facilities were in the 90s and early 00s. Not to mention having to pony up to keep a top 10ish head coach in college football at Oklahoma St this long.

Florida State should not be in the top 10 lol

Eh, it's close. Only thing that hurts them is their cheapskate admins.

It took Tennessee firing Fulmer, Clemson firing a Bowden,UofSC having a Hall Of Fame coach and rare time in that state where the 5th best recruit wasn't a 3 star for their little Glory Years run. The stars will never line up like that for them again

I want you to know, that I save comments like this by Dog fans.

And when we beat you, I pull them out and read them. And I wonder: "What is NCDawg52 doing tonight?"

That said I think Miami is too low.

I know about the issues with the program, but just on sheer number of talented prospects within a few hours of their school, they take a back seat to no one.

The OP had a snippet about Georgia having been a sleeping giant. One day Miami will get a difference maker coach again like Jimmy Johnson and they will be back in a hurry.

Will disagree. MSU won the Goddamned SEC West and had the second worst facilities in the league during the same timeframe.

Any Football coaching job ranking that places Maryland at #38 isn’t worth using as toilet paper. The School is a cesspool for anyone stupid enough to want to coach there. Moronic.

List appears to be poop

I can not agree that 44 coaches above Stoops could have gotten UK 10 wins, can you?
