The 49ers and former Oxford, Alabama and LSU linebacker Kwon Alexander have reportedly agreed to a four-year, $54 million deal, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The average annual value of Alexander's contract ($13.5 million) is the second highest of any inside linebacker in the league, according to Spotrac, surpassing Luke Kuechly's by over $1 million. The $27 million guarantee for Alexander is similar what Kuechly was guaranteed on his deal

Also-congratulations to LSU's own Honey Badger for his monster contract. Once official, Mathieu will be tied for the highest-paid safety on a three-year contract ($14 million per year) with another Baton Rouge product, Landon Collins, who went to another school somewhere.

Great to see all these kids , two who were written off at one time or another, killing it in the NFL.

A former Bama LB, CJ Mosley just made Alexander contract look tiny.

Too bad Bama turned down Alexander, had to go with his back up option, LSU.

Aw, that's cute. It lasted a whole 1 day before Alabama beat LSU again

1. The Jets agreed to a whopping five-year, $85 million deal with linebacker C.J. Mosley, formerly of the Ravens, in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The previous high for an inside linebacker was a $12.3 million average per year that Luke Kuechly got from the Panthers. Mosley’s $17 million per year blows that out of the water.

That's great for Kwon and his family. And they are welcome back home anytime, too.

That’s a sweet deal, but what’s that after Cali taxes, and the price of living in the Bay Area?

Congrats to them. The money will make never winning a championship a little easier to swallow.
