I personally love visiting Chicago. Never would live there though.

Savannah GA, I'd never willingly live in the area, it would be torture, but it's nice for a day visit.

Hard to pick between DC and New Orleans.

Seattle or San Diego. Would love to live in either city.

Have not gone to visit a city in awhile. Guess maybe DC because of the smithsonian
Detroit would be pretty far down

New Orleans (used to have a place there). It’s like a second home, despite all of its issues.
I’ve been to NYC a couple of times and really enjoyed it, too.

Abroad: Amsterdam
In the U.S: Los Angeles. Family, weather, endless list of things to do in the city, up in the mountains or down at the beach. In small bits I love it, but I couldn't live there permanently.

NYC is actually pretty fun except for the traffic toll fines

Put me in the DC camp for favorite cities to visit. A lot to see and do there. Take my advice if you ever go there... spend a little time figuring out how the Metro system works and then take the trains everywhere.
Don't drive in Washington, DC unless you are a masochist and you can't find someone to flog you while dressed as Big Bird. DC and the surrounding area is a nightmare to drive in. If you have to go somewhere in DC by car hire a driver to take you there.

I really liked Savannah and Charleston 20 - 40 years ago but growth has changed both. Now there is a town in GA I want to visit.
I like parts of Canada as they are really America a generation or so ago. Nice where folks chat you up on the street and doors are still unlocked. Front porches may still be built in America but they sure do not get the use they did in the past.

I bought a steel guitar in New Orleans at a pawn shop. The guy said it had a lot of history around town. It still sounds good. It has a lot of signatures/autographs/initials ...but I dont see DSJ :(

DC was always a spring and fall place, and America's Attic & Garage can take a week by itself.
