Slive did an amazing job, but why again did we rush into adding Mizzou?

having an odd number of teams wouldn't have been the worst thing for a couple of years. Why did the SEC office panic there?

yes it would

you know why, TV markets and money. At the time they had a really solid basketball program and were pretty decent in football, to go along with being a decent academic school. But most importantly it was an entirely new region of TV eyeballs and dollars rolling in.

St Louis...St Louis...St Louis

Does anybody watch Mizzou from Missouri? Still could have waited on a different market.

Losing Mizzou would hurt ratings more than losing one of the Mississippi schools would.

Maybe so but you ain't messing with a Charter school...Ole Miss brings a great college town in Oxford, the Grove, hot arse women. Mizzou brings nothing but a safe space

That's what I'm wondering too.
Seems more like a Cardinals, Royals, Chiefs kinda town.

What are the market numbers for St. Louis and Kansas City for SEC games? I bet they don't even come close to a smaller city like Birmingham generates.

Nothing comes close to Birmingham for College football.
I think it's number 1 across all CFB markets.
But... That's all they got.

Why did we add aTm?
I never thought we should have added South Carolina or Arkansas but it allowed Kramer (at that time) to pitch the conference championship game. That, coupled with ESPN and huge TV deals, lead to the evolution from the CFA to conference expansion. It was all unnecessary in my view.
I wish there were 5 or 6 Super Conferences (not by size but by quality/geography).
That will never happen. No, we have Mizzou and aTm misplaced in the SEC; West Virginia in the Big 12; Nebraska, Rutgers and Maryland in the B1G, etc. What bullshite.

The greatest geographical mismatch out there is Syracuse and Boston college in the ACC, Colorado and Utah in the Pac is pretty high up there.
With expansion, and it absolutely had to happen, A&M and Missouri are great additions, imo. Who would have been better? I think most of the teams in the big 12 would have gone somewhere if they had had a chance

They should have been put in the West and Auburn moved to the East from the get go.

Should we have seen the poop swastika coming? Is that something that is really predictable?

In the last 9 years mizzou has had a top 5 ranked team in both basketball and football

Missouri has accomplished more than Texas A&M has in the SEC
