In your opinion, is this the most tepid, unenthusiastic NC game in a while? There is very little talk and hype about this game. A lot has to do with apathy, the two teams playing again, the location, and so forth.

What do you think? I woke up forgetting that this game is being played tonight.

ETA: Alabama - 34 Clemson - 17

I think it's mostly because of location. It should be in New Orleans, Atlanta, Miami, or Dallas.

It is but I think it’s because of the respect between the two teams. Not a lot of trash talk because this game can go either way. Two teams that mirror each other.

Yes, the game itself (the football being played between the lines) will be quality for sure, but there is zero hype about the game.

People are burnt. the. frick. out. on Alabama and Clemson.

Yep

That's not an insult, of course. They're the best 2 teams by a fair margin and it should be a good game. I think people recognize it's a quality matchup and it might be very high quality entertainment tonight, but that doesn't necessarily make it very interesting to the masses.

I don’t like Bama and I really don’t like Dabo. Feels more like a conference championship game due to their proximity and how often they’ve been playing each other.

With that being said, I bet it will be a great game between the two best teams in CFB, so I can’t complain.

I actually forgot it was tonight too till I came on the Rant. I can't remember a title game in CFB I've ever cared less about. Not an insukt to either team, just tired of the same shite every year. Just kind of meh now

All y'all frickers saying it's boring, if bama goes down 2 scores early, Y'all have Y'alls arse glue to the TV praying for Bama to lose. Go ahead admit it.

I don't think the location of the game has any bearing on national interest or the number of butts in their couches watching the game on tv

I get the Bama hate, but how can you not like Dabo?

The guy is a pretty decent fellow, who is goofy, funny, and a damn good football coach.

I wonder if ESPN is getting slaughtered money wise. They paid a lot for these games. I wonder what tv contracts will look like in the future if no changes are made

People will definitely notice, but would they actually care? The trajectory of either program will remained unchanged regardless of the outcome. Alabama will either have won their 5th title in 8 years or will have only won 4 in 8 years, having played in the title game 6 of 8 years. One more title for them isn't going to move the needle one way or the other. Same for Clemson, although I guess they do have more to gain than does Alabama. But them losing to Alabama isn't going to derail their program, and beating them isn't going to move them ahead of Alabama in the grand scheme. They have already established themselves as clear #1 and #2 programs in the country, and no one else is really all that close right now. A win or loss won't change that for either program, unlike the last time Clemson played Alabama in the title game.

People will certainly watch. However, I don't think nearly as many non-interested parties will have any real emotional attachment to this game Of course this board would troll Alabama if they lost. And Alabama will troll the board if they win. But that type of thing is a constant if an SEC team is playing.

Other teams need to stop bitching about this and start actually competing with Alabama and Clemson. Sound like a bunch of whiny democrats...
