To only be competitive in football and not much else. I get the fact that football is king to you. I think it’s that way only because that’s what you do well.
Kentucky has Basketball as their sport.
LSU has Baseball as their sport. They’re good in other sports too.
If Bama is going to use football to thump their chests and say that it’s the primary sport that funds ALL the other sports then I’ll say ok. But… what do you get for your investment in the other sports? Do you care? Do you want your almamater to be well rounded or a one sport school?
Not meant as a flame but I have to admit that I’d like to see all schools take pride in their athletic program.
What do all fans of teams what from the school they cheer for?

This was worse than UFs effort against Missouri this season.

We have more national titles in football than Kentucky in basketball and L8U in baseball combined

We just beat Kentucky at Basketball
How does it feel to be good at not really anything is what I’d like to know? As a UF fan maybe you could shed some light on it for us
Tennessee and Ole Miss fans you can chime in too if you’d like

Maybe try following the Bama board in basketball season.

Do I need to put a gif of a shirtless and perhaps bottomless D'Angelo in this thread? For some reason I can't read 'how does it feel' without getting his pic in my head. I just do not know why...
Ok so forget the gif, just go for the full thing. You're welcome.

Alabama is Top 3 in the SEC in football, basketball and baseball in regards to all-time wins.
Jesus Christ some of you are fricking stupid.

I get your anger but it’s not meant that way.
Florida may not be the best at anything. They are competitive in the all around sports award. So is aTm and UGA.
I think UF has won the all sports award a couple of times in a row. Maybe even more than the other schools.

Bama fans would rather win at football than bang their cousins, and they really love banging their cousins.

Feels great to have a top football program.
Also feels great to know baseball is in good hands and will bear fruit soon.
Basketball might get back to the NCAA tourney but I don’t have a lot of faith in Avery.
Softball, gymnastics, men and women’s golf all compete for championships.
This is an athletic department that finished 16th in the director’s cup last year, FWIW.

I'm not a basketball fan. Dont care for the sport. Not really interested in watching it. Might give the national championship and NBA finals a look now and then when it's on TV at the bar, but I dont really care.
I'm a football fan, hockey fan, and baseball fan. In that order.

Come again....peasant. Can't hear you from up here on the throne. You must kneel and kiss the ring before you address the king.

The honest answer is that most fans, including students currently attending the institutions, don't give much of a damn about sports other than football and basketball, with baseball a distant third, and the attendance numbers bear that out. Oh, sure, if a given university happens to be particularly good in a certain non-Big 3 sport, it'll get somewhat more interest (like, say, gymnastics at several SEC schools, soccer at some schools, etc.) But even those don't draw anything near the attention of the big sports. Just how it goes. Being "well-rounded" is just a bragging point, not a sign of how much the fans actually care about the sports.
