Meh. Hispanics are white too technically.

Because they're mixed with Spanish. People give white people so much shite about us taking North America, but nobody ever says shite about what the Spanish did to central and south america, there's hardly any natives left in central America at least

Yep. He's really not trolling. He honest-to-God conflated being funded by people and institutions in Qatar with providing funds to terrorists.

Wow.

We have a campus in Qatar—in Education City, along with six other US universities.
We have for years.
I’ve previously performed faculty work there, so I feel acquainted enough with the situation to say your commentary on this subject is both bizarre and uninformed.

So you're taking the stance that this is all just made up and Texas A&m hasn't accepted a single penny from Qatar? Interesting take

Yeah, it’s wild.
Sheikha Moza, wife of Qatar Sheikh Al Thani (Qatari royalty) has led colossal education and social reform there, which has aided women.
But obviously, it’s still a different world.

FTR, my experience was that TAMUQ isn’t even in the same universe as Qatar University (two totally different schools; I conducted research at both), in terms of environments for women, with TAMUQ obviously being built upon a different set of, uh ... values.

my only experience with Qatar social norms comes from reading about the atrocities committed in the name of getting the country ready for the FIFA World Cup. Literal slave labor, working human beings to death in criminal conditions.

Good on TAMUQ for bringing civilization to that savagery

OP is a perfect example of how a little bit of information from Wikipedia will make an idiot dangerous.

BTW Texas A&M-Qater has the best camel racing team in the SEC.

I could share personal stories that would make your skin crawl; but that’s a thread for the Poli Board.
TAMUQ has had a huge impact in the ME, in terms of offering a pocket of sanity in the middle of an an unimaginable environment.
That said, I prefer College Station to Doha.

But, really, you're right. The last thing we need is for universities from the western world to provide education to people from the middle east.

I would venture the vast majority of people over there do not want our education.

Those guys frickin invented algebra.

All I see is another list where A&M is at or near the top. Sorry Auburn never is.
