Yeah, if I was Kirby, I'd want to tell him to either get in or get out. Not like he hasn't had a half a month to think it over already.
Then again, Kirby probably doesn't want to publicly strong-arm a kid that's already causing the program some bad press.

You mean like you have shite on Fromm and Smart all season because Fields didn't win the starting job?
I've sh*t on Fromm numerous times and rightfully so. Doesn't mean I don't think he's a very good QB. I've only shite on Smart over his complete lack of a plan as to what to do with Fields or how to develop him, as well as that stupid fake punt and then throwing Fields under the bus. You idiots on here are so black and white. You can't criticize someone or some thing and still love them or think they're good. You have no nuance to anything. Everything is either Fromm is the greatest ever or not.
I've also never argued for Fields to start. Only for Fields to get more playing time instead of the one play and out nonsense and for Kirby and Chaney to come up with a credible plan to develop him. They never presented that plan.

You don't have a clue. You just think you do.

FWIW players can declare a transfer and be added to the NCAA transfer portal so that they can talk to other programs. But they can also remove themselves from the portal so long as the school hasn’t pulled their scholarship.

HT, I don’t understand your position. Kirby went above and beyond to give a second string, Freshman QB playing time. Even though he was behind a future 1st round pick. With the latest developments, I’m starting to question him. Few players in college football have ever been given so much PT outside of mop up duty. I guess he has a lot of people in his ear. Now we have attorneys who promise rules don’t apply to you...
I guess the upside is Fromm will win the Heisman next year. So that’s good.

I'd put his disloyal arse in a 3 technique so the Texas O-line could pound him.
You would, but then you're a disgraceful piece of sh*t who would do that to a kid.

What's there to understand? His entire year was wasted. The only thing Kirby went above and beyond on was putting him in to run a play and then immediately taking him out, probably to placate him. Numerous analysts, including Greg McElroy said Fields was being misused and the 1 play thing was useless. One of the ESPN analysts during a game said the same thing. I can't remember who but I distinctly remember the remark.

And what happened when he was thrown in the fire against a decent Tennessee D? He played pretty damn well. Does anyone think Fields could've done that this season against a comparable D like USCe or Kentucky? frick no.
I was pretty much agreeing with ya man. Was just saying that there isn't a way to say without a doubt that he wouldn't have made significant strides like Fromm did if he had to be thrown in as the starter week 1. Do I think that would've happened? Not really. Fromm is next level and he's our guy. And I meant thrown in the fire more in the sense of making a first career start in South Bend as opposed to getting drives against the last place team in the East.

I come from the fricking Era where this actually meant something:
TEAM
me
So excuse me when I say frick Fields for leaving. Guys like Jalen Hurts are a rare fricking breed.

This generation is lost on me. The guy ahead of you ran off another 5* who was the f’n starter. You come in, get lots of practice reps and a chance to play, but don’t win the job. If you weren’t willing to risk sitting on the bench for two years, why sign with GA?
I don’t really fault Fields for transferring. I fault the way he is going about it. Eason will always be a DGD for leaving with a little class.

What do you care? You didn't want him anyway. Why shouldn't Fields look after his own interests. You're aren't very bright. If he was your son, would you not care about his interests?

That will mean so much when he's working the 9 to 5 instead of the NFL. Ask DJ Shockley what riding the pine for three years will do to the chances of an NFL career. Who knows if he would have had a better career if he played three years, but he would have made more money, that's for certain.

The pros don't give a rats arse how many years you played in college. If you're good enough for them, they'll put you on the roster. If not, bye bye. Just ask 4 year starter Aaron Murray.

Oh I see it with these young guys at work all the time. Fresh out of college thinking they know everything and should be running the show on day one.
They know nothing of paying your dues and actually earning something. They expect it to just be handed to them. I enjoy watching life bitch slap them very quickly.
20 years ago when I started out I always hung with the old hats so I could actually pick up the little knowledge nuggets they would bestow from time to time. Not this young bunch.....

If he wants to shop himself then Kirby should let him, but he should drop him from the Sugar Bowl roster. Tell him he has until January 2 to make up his mind. If he leaves pull his scholly immediately.
He shouldn't be around the rest of the team if he's talking about leaving.

ESPECIALLY if he's going to try to use that racial slur b.s. (which I don't condone, but that is not grounds for a hardship waiver) as a way to transfer and start next season somewhere else.
