I come from the fricking Era where this actually meant something: TEAM me
It's hard for me to come to terms with the way highly touted recruits are handling themselves in recent times. I get it to some degree, but it takes the meaning away from playing for a team, a school, and a state.
I want players who commit to the program not only as a platform for the NFL, but above all else bc they bleed red and black and have a sense of pride wearing those uniforms. Guys like Richard Samuel, Keith Marshall, Shockley, Godwin, etc. Not saying everyone needs to be a four year player, but you can tell playing for UGA really meant something to those guys and I love it.
The guys listed were all the best of the best 5 star recruits too. Saying shite didn't go their way a lot of the time is a major understatement.

We've seen Fromm's ceiling. Fields was a generational talent, and we fricking blew it.

Well if he were my son I probably would have helped him find a place where he had actually had a shot to play in the near future.

Well that's just a stupid thing to say.

Tyson Campbell had a suspiciously timed tweet at around 8:30pm tonight which seemed to be a subtle jab. I believe he has since deleted that tweet which seems slightly odd.
He tweeted, "It's not about what you go through in life. It's how you let it affect you. #EmbraceAdversity"
Some 5 stars like Campbell handle it better than others when things don't go their way apparently.

See .... this is bullshite.
Fromm is a sophomore....we have no idea where his ceiling is.
If Fields was truly a generational talent he’d have taken Fromms job. Aside from his one and done appearances, Fields has gotten more PT than any freshman QB I can remember. He did well...but generational?

Campbell told us everything we needed to know when he was honest about why he had struggled a bit this season and instead of making excuses, he owned it and resolved to keep getting better.
That's how it's done.
That's how it's done.

Meh it sucks he's leaving but if Fields has a chance to play in the NFL it's probably in his interest to transfer because Fromm played phenomenal the last half of the season

You mean like HOF Kurt Warner who sat until he was a SR at UNI.

That will mean so much when he's working the 9 to 5 instead of the NFL. Ask DJ Shockley what riding the pine for three years will do to the chances of an NFL career. Who knows if he would have had a better career if he played three years, but he would have made more money, that's for certain.

If Fromm's ceiling is leading his team to the national championship game and playing as a top 10 QB as a freshman and sophomore, I'm thankful that Georgia has Jake Fromm for two more years.

Why? How is he better off transferring if he wants to go to nfl?

There are exceptions to everything.

Because he's not starting over Fromm amd Fromm isn't leaving early

Tell me how many QBs who have made it in NFL transferred in college.

Some of those balls he threw in the SECCG weren't just NFL caliber throws, they were elite NFL QB caliber throws.
Not all 5*s are created equally.

I'll help. One of them was the first pick in the draft last year.

When I say made it, I mean a career. Not just getting drafted. Do they ever end up being successful?

Fields can redshirt next year and still play in 4 games while the next freshman qb gets garbage time, and he'll have two years separation from Fromm. Two years of him being the man. Winning NC's. Winning a Heisman, being a #1 overall draft pick.
