I hope this doesn’t happen, Werner has been a huge part of why Jake has improved and our offense has improved as it has.

That would be the one place I could see him leaving us for. His wife is from there, and he has good memories of Oxford.

I hate to say it, but it would make perfect sense for Werner.

hopefully he weighs the risk of how much longer Luke/staff will be employed in Oxford beyond the stop-gap hire it was.
the personal/family draw is real, but so is the chance the staff at Ole Miss has 1, maybe 2 more seasons, before a change occurs. their attendance is already falling badly and OM will say goodbye to both their stud WR (150 of the 282 total receptions) to the NFL this spring.

"Alright guys, we're changing the location of our position group meeting today. We'll be getting together at Group Therapy on Greene St. Mr. Tannyhill will be our guest speaker. Happy hour is from 5- 6, don't be late. First round on me. Hillinski, you're the DD. Break!"

Being reported that Ole Miss is moving on to other candidates and Werner will remain in Columbia.

I can't count how many happy hours I had at Group growing up except my 5-6 there was normally am.

Can he start after the AAF season is over?
Trying to watch him play some "professional" football.
Ya dig?

Our people believe Werner wants to retire to Oxford in a few years (they still own their house here) and doesn't want to be apart of a train wreck that taints his retirement.
Question for you guys, does Werner recruit there? At Ole Miss we had an exception to let Barney Farrar recruit for Werner because of his (dan's) sick son. I'm just curious because I don't think the league was ultimately very happy about the arrangements.

I'm pretty sure Werner was heavily involved with the recruitment of Hilinski. I don't know if he travels though.

He was just in Cali for the in-home with Hilinski and recruited Doty.

Love Coach Werner. Super nice guy, and he does recruit the QB position for us as mentioned above.
He also purchased a house here in Columbia, so hopefully he will be here for a few years before he rides off into the sunset of retirement.
His wife is from Oxford, and her entire family lives there. I could definitely see them returning in the future, but I think he is content for the time being here on our staff with his salary and responsibility he has.

Did he remarry? His first wife passed away unexpectedly.
