One under-the-radar key to Bama v UGA

Bama is one of top O's in regards to big play scoring. UGA is one of the top D's re plays over 20 yards.
I think we'll make Bama earn every point. I don't think they'll get huge chunk plays like they are used to. Can Tua deliver if he has to go 10-plays every drive?
Unfortunately, I think we'll force Bama to use their underrated rushing attack, and it will be successful. Sort of like we forced Bama to turn to Tua last year.
FWIW- I predicted UGA kicker Rodrigo Blankenship would be the difference in the MNC game last year, and was roundly mocked by you assclowns. If not for 2nd and 26......

Tuna is not as accurate when pressured, the key will be if UGA can get pressure. I don’t think they can.

All evidence supports your thinking

Tua's passer rating on midrange passes is still among the best in the country. But it's not head and shoulders above the others like his numbers on longer throws. If they beat us deep over and over, I'll tip my hat.
It could happen, huge amount of talent at all their WR spots.

LSU and MSU were also pretty good at limiting the big play. UGA will absolutely commit 2 safeties deep all the time and force Tua to take the underneath.
The problem is, if UGA can't get pressure, theres no way UGA can cover those wideouts for long periods and they have the speed to turn an underneath crossing route into a 70 yard TD.
They do it every game.

That's basically how LSU, State and Auburn attempted to defend us.
State was able to have success because their front 4 harassed us, which isn't really something UGA will be able to do. LSU got a few red zone stops and a few stops right outside the red zone, but we piled up yards. Auburn broke in the 3rd quarter.
I think this sets up a lot like LSU's defense, honestly. Georgia may be a tad better up front, but LSU was a tad better in the back. Neither was elite against the run and neither could rush the passer with their front 4.
I think if Georgia held us to 29 points like LSU did that would honestly probably be considered a decent effort on their part and give them a shot to win.

LSU and MSU also had a pass rush. UGA does not

That is true, but we've been better at it than both of those teams have through the year. LSU's DBs are great, but I've watched them play and they've been beaten far more than ours have. Baker has outplayed Williams this year.
All that said, you may very well have a handful of big play passes downfield. You are that good. I've seen Greedy beaten several times this year where he's had to grab the guy and draw the flag. The flags called on Baker have been questionable on almost every occasion and just don't recall him being beaten at all deep. Campbell is a freshman and was on the opposite side. He's gotten beaten a time or two, but his biggest problem is the intermediate range passes and not adjusting in time to play the ball. Usually is right on his guy in terms of coverage. We're starting a different guy, Stokes over there now. He seems to be better at playing the ball, but will have his biggest challenge to date Saturday by a long shot.

Yea, Baker is the best in America. I still think that their entire DB unit is better with Delpit and a healthy Fulton. They are the most equipped backfield in America to run around with our DBs, as a unit, for 4-5 seconds at a time. JMHO. State has a really athletic and aggressive back 7 that pairs well with their DL. I think if you put them with a front 4 that didn't get as much pressure they'd get beat a lot, but they don't have to cover for long periods of time and are really good at jumping routes and smashing guys at the line. Makes it really hard when your QB has to think and process things super quick or get mauled by Simmons/Sweat.
In past years I'd be terrified about this matchup, because we'd have 1 or 2 really good receivers, and Baker is just gonna shut whoever he guards down, no matter how good they are. Luckily we have multiple weapons, and the fact that Georgia doesn't generate a great rush means Tua will have time to find them.
Either way, I'm expecting Kirby and Mel to come up with some stuff to try and bait Tua into some throws.

You won't beat Bama if you don't stop the run.
Got to stop the run, then hope your pass defense holds up.

Yeah. I love our CBs matching up on the outside.
But I love the LSU safeties a lot more than where we are right now. We are good at safety. But not elite.
The smart play for Tua is to attack the linebackers in pass coverage. They are good for linebackers... but that isn't saying much. That is always the mismatch. Make em work in pass pro and see what that does for your run game.

That's my thought. We will need 30+ to win in all likelihood.

Yep, agree. And it wouldn't shock me to see UGA get it. That offense is very good and very balanced.
Of course this all means the game will end 23-17 or something.

Bump- in a game that had probably 30 NFL players I picked a goggle, pink shoe wearing kicker named Rodrigo as the difference. And almost nailed it. You are hard to please
