That's just fricking pussy-assed, to couch it in technical terms. If a player runs up to the crowd or Texas players and does it, I get that as unsportsmanlike. Not because it attacks a rich tradition but because you're being unsportsmanlike. It doesn't matter if it's horns down or a jacking-off motion. But simply flashing them is nothing. Only a pissant would call for unsportsmanlike conduct for that.

That has been the opposite for UF. Every other team can do the Chomp to mock us but we can't do it or we get flagged. Although I noticed this season we have done it a couple of times and didn't get flagged.

UGA caught the flag for Gurley doing it in 2012, but I think the neck slash immediately following it was what sent it overboard 
I was always under the impression that UGA can't chomp at UF, but Bellamy got away with it last year so I guess it's fine.

If anyone wants to see a ref job watch the WVU-Texas game from this year. That penalty was called three times. The last one 3 WVU players gave it to the crowd after the 2 point conversion to win the game.

Josh jacobs got flagged for doing the “fins up” after an ole miss linebacker tried to twist his leg off 3 yards into the end zone. Crazy because there’s a Bama bias amongst refs

I'd apply the same logic for both UF and their opponent -- do it as celebration and you're cool. Approach the crowd or players and, fine, I reluctantly concede that can be a penalty. The problem with equating them is that it's super hard to do a chomp sarcastically. The horns down gesture isn't used by Texas, so its meaning is clear.
