I am guilty of reading the tiger rant for daily laughs and for general entertainment and that seems to be the topic of the week and it should be. So one camp is blaming it on a lack of talent on the OL while the other thinks they need a new OC. The truth is, you need a better quarterback. Burrow sucks. That is just the truth. Coach E has worked around his weakness as a passer the best way he could but still, there is only so much you can do with a limited quarterback.

Of course a Briles or Kiffin type would be an instant upgrade even with a bad quarterback but your scheme this year would have produced had you had a legit passer and maybe a 5 star running back that you typically have. Orgeron probably isn't firing E so your hope is that Burrow transforms into something that he isn't or you bring in a quarterback that can deliver in the current system.

Either way, you will probably win out and possibly end up top 5 or so at year's end. No way O shakes up his staff after a year like that even with a shitty offense.

Burrow is pretty damn bad, but he's certainly not 100% of the problem. New QB, new OC, new WR coach, new oline...well pretty much everyone sucks.

After we get a new o line, a new qb, all new wr, a new stable of running backs, and a new oc we will be great.

The OL has been way way worse than Burrow and it's not even close. Burrow has struggled recently but over the course of the season he's shown to be capable in some games, the OL, nah.

In order the problem on the offense is probably:

1. OL
2. Playcalling
3. Burrow

The biggest problem with burrow is he's not good under pressure, and the worst part about that is our OL is absolutely terrible about keeping pressure off him.

A lot of people gave up on Etling after his first year here, and significantly improved his 2nd year. Burrow could every easily do the same if the OL could get their stuff together. The guy has talent and moxie, but no doubt he is BAD under pressure. When he has time, he can pick people apart and make accurate throws.

The OL is clearly the issue. Even Tom frickin Brady couldn't do shite vs the Giants when his OL was getting blown up. Traditional Bama teams are a prime example as you've had game manager type QBs have phenomenal seasons in large part due to having a great OL.

Most people are saying we need to modernize our offense. We're not going to win any championships with an outdated offensive philosophy.

I would be interested to see what Canada could have done with Burrow. Coach O fired Canada for Steve.

That's been the question for 8 years.

Just blaming a player or saying they just need better players is dumb.

LSU has had NFL players all over the offense for years.

It is 90% scheme/philosophy/playcalling

SE offense is no different than when he took over in 2016. Basically Miles' offense ran out of a shotgun base set. The exact same rushing attack between tackles and deep arse passing tree.

Offense is ranked 104th, and near the bottom of almost every offensive category. That doesn't fall on JB. He has his flaws, but this is on SE/CEO.

If CEO wants to stay at LSU, he better shake it up. BC this is what got Miles fired. But I agree, he wont make a change.

Burrow has good numbers when we keep him clean. But that’s the problem he’s running for his life

Honestly I'd settle for hiring a coordinator who's last stint didn't end after going 2-10 at a high school and being fired.

Coach E has done a remarkable job of covering up Joe Burrow weaknesses this year. Most QBs are accurate if giving time, but good to elite can reset the pocket. LSU posters have forgotten what a QB really is and overrated Burrows. 6 TDs and 4 picks speaks volumes.

No.

It’s a combination of O line, Qb, RB, scheme and play calling. There is a lot of room for improvement in all phases of offense.

Well, you're right. If we had a better QB and offensive line, plus a new OC, we'd be better.

Since you're being honest, I'll bite.

You watch all the teams that can knock Bama on it's heels and what do you see? Clemson, OU, OSU, and Utah.

They bring confusing spreads and change plays on the fly. They "no-huddle" at will also. LSU hasn't even had an offense of note since 2007. 2014 was a lucky year only because Mettenberger could complete passes. 2011 was won by our defense.

I don't know what it is. We are over 10 years into coaching staffs not wanting to chance. Scared to put out wild pass-happy packages. Every coach we get seems to think that running up the middle for 3 yards is success.

And we WON'T beat Bama with vanilla offense. The Les Miles of 2005 would've gone for the gold like Saban of 2001. I miss those days. Our defense is established compared to those years. Open up the damn playbook or get a new one.

Coach O is trying to get Jr. Tua to play here. I feel like he'd be wasted anyway with Ensminger.

It's a combination of scheme and talent. If LSU fans are honest with themselves this the least talented offense of this century. There are no elite players on the O-line, WR, TE, RB, or QB. I don't think guys have 1 all-sec caliber player on offense.

Give out a few chargers and find an out of state QB and move his family to Louisiana. Then schedule as many bad defensive teams as they can. Seems to have worked for Bama.
