SEC Basketball - Predicictions

SEC football has been settled. Georgia romped Kentucky and Alabama suffocated LSU. Alabama will beat Georgia in the SEC Chapionship and will then go to beat Clemson by 21+ in the National Championship game. Wrap up the books.
Now, SEC Basketball is upon us. #2 Kentucky tips it off against #4 Duke tonight. How do y'all seeing the SEC shaping up?

For the first time in a while I'd say our basketball will out preform football

Without knowing what UF is like this year, UK, AU, and UT will be the tops in the conference.
AU probably returns the most talent, and brings back McLemore, Wiley, and Purifoy. Nobody will want to run with this team and our defense is going to cause meltdowns.

I'm pretty pumped about LSU BBall this year. Top 5 recruiting class with a returning All-American type PG. Will Wade about to roll out the 3PG starting lineup and wreck shop on the SEC.

LSU #2
Maybe. But I hope not. LSU's coach is a court documented cheater who buys players, and he deserves to fail.

Thanks to revelations from the ongoing federal corruption case regarding NCAA basketball, we just might be learning why LSU suddenly -- almost magically -- has become a destination location for so many elite basketball recruits. The latest developments in the case revealed some damning allegations about LSU and Wade, its second-year basketball coach. According to multiple reports Tuesday (Oct. 16), attorneys for the defendants said in court that Wade was caught on an FBI wiretap expressing to a middleman a willingness to "fund" a recruit's commitment.

Tennessee returns the most experience.
Kentucky has the most talent.
I'd say Auburn takes a step back this year. Even with key guys returning.
The SEC will be a bloodbath in conference play. There are so many good teams.

So court documented makes it worse? Get your head out of the sand. College Basketball as a whole is corrupt.

Ah...the "everybody does it" defense. Where have I heard that before? Oh yea - OLE MISS.

Former Texas A&M basketball standout Robert Williams was mentioned by sports agent Christian Dawkins as being linked to the FBI's investigation of corruption in college basketball, according to a report Wednesday. Williams was one of several players Dawkins was "actively involved with," per ESPN's Jeff Borzello.

Link? Robert Williams was a recruiting find from a tiny town who blew up late.
Is there a federal wiretap of A&M head coach offering money for him? Or are you just throwing shite against the wall in the hope that the mere appearance of impropriety might win you favor with the members of this court?

Never forget, Christian Dawkins has been proven to be a patholigical liar who was once fired for running up $42k charges on a client's credit card. Not saying he didnt have contact with these guys. But *what* the relationship was will determine if rules (and laws) were broken

Why didn't you post this part of that link?
It's absurd to equate the fact that Williams was mentioned by a known pathological liar as being involved in pay for play with the fact that LSU's head coach is on FBI wiretap offering money to middle men for the purchase of players. The first is rumor from a known liar. The second is a fricking FBI wiretap.

Which makes it even more important for everyone to take care of business in the OOC to leave no doubt come tourney time.

Well.

We do have ample opportunity between Duke, Kansas, North Carolina, Louisville to prove our worth at least. Gonna be at least one L in there though.

It was an exhibition game, but our freshmen looked good. Perry had 12 pts and 12 boards in 18 minutes. Couple them with what we have returning, and things look pretty positive. If Peters can keep his head screwed on, we could have a pretty special year.
