You want to brunch at Brennan’s. It will take you a couple hours. You’re welcome.

Mother's. Get the Famous Ferdi Special with debris. Abita to wash it down.

Charbroiled oysters, Drago's.

Mother's is overrated, imo. So is the entire French Quarter for more than an hour or two unless you like vomit, crowds and shitty humans.
I'd say check out the warehouse district, instead, if you haven't already. A great place for lunch is Cochon Butcher. Lots of simple but unique things on the menu and all the beers or wine you might want to try. You won't be disappointd.
Then just wander bar to bar in the area afterwards. You've got everything you could want over there, but without the tard crowd.
The area around Mannings is fun too. Plenty of places to eat oysters on the sidewalk and drink and people watch, but away from the tourist vomit shite show and the worst of the vampire freak crime.

I know it's a bit touristy, but I always go by ACME for Oysters at some point.

Acme for chargrilled oysters is a great answer. Also around the corner is Mr. B’s for awesome barbecue shrimp (shrimp in awesome brown butter sauce not grilled). Can’t go wrong at Mandina’s up Canal St. from the quarter. Couchon in the CBD/warehouse district is also great. Enjoy Nola!

I second all of this.

Po Boy at Johnny's or Oysters at Felix's.

Either the fried oyster or surf & turf po-boy from parkway bakery if you can go about a mile away from the touristy stuff.

I for one would like to thank Jefferson Dawg for his contribution beyond HGMF and yelling at Atlantans and liberals for how much they suck... This is a very helpful sincere post.

Palace Cafe on Canal is always good, especially if you like shrimp. If you want something a little different, go to Bayona and get the PB&J sandwich (cashew butter, roast duck, and red pepper jelly).
Can't go wrong with Dooky Chase, either.

I’m a fan of Stanley on Jackson Square. I’ve eaten different dishes there and they were all good. LINK

If you want to do the tourist routine, it's breakfast at Brennans, lunch at Court of Two Sisters, and dinner at Antoine's. All great meals and fun to go to. Have plenty of cash.
But, for great food ask a local where the best places are. And be sure to have a beignet and cafe au lait at Cafe du Monde in the Quarter or the Warehouse District. Morning Call Coffee Stand is the best, if they are still in City Park and survived the lawsuit from Cafe du Monde to take over the location.

I'll be within walking distance of there but I don't see a crawish omelette on the menu. You sure that's it?
