Why isn't he signing the right players to fit the system?

This is my issue with him and why I can't wait to move on from him. If he isn't going to change his offense to accommodate whiteboy, pocket passing QB's, then at the very least recruit the right kids for his system. It's mind boggling.

2010 & 2013 saw some great RPO play from our QB's. Naturally you'd think Gus would capitalize on such success and keep recruiting them. He failed in his Jeremy Johnson and JF3 assessments, and then had Sean White and Stidham. He's now going after Bo Nix, which won't work either because Gus can't draw up a true passing offense.

What his dumbass should be doing is playing Malik Willis regularly and recruiting the nations top true dual threat QB's. With the success of 2010 & 2013 he should've made Auburn the nations #1 school for dual threat QB's, but he hasn't done that.

90% horse shite. Defense is playing well because they have experienced great players so "they have a great attitude"...blah blah. Offense ain't playing well because of the QB (LOL). Truth is they have pretty good OL talent without a lot of experience. Last year they had damn good OL talent with a ton of 4th and 5th year players.

Now everybody is an expert and hearing stuff. Gus wasn't a genius last year and he ain't an idiot this one. Stidham is probably good enough to play in the league and next year's QB will look better since they return a lot of players on offense. And Kevin Steele won't be quite the genius he is this year since they lose a bunch of hosses up front. Now that is some horse shite you can believe in.

What I don’t understand is why DT QBs aren’t going to a program where they saw Newton/Marshall be so successful? And why are the big bruiser RBs? You can’t tell me AU isn’t recruiting these type players really hard, because they have to be.

Nah. I'm not saying all he posted isn't true at least on some levels, but I can't imagine that if any of it is true that Gus knows zero about it.

My Auburn buddy told me about how big of a bitch Stidham was and I shared that on the rant and the Auburn fans thought I was trolling I guess.

He was right obviously.

I really don't get why Gus won't recruit players that actually fit his system.

He never changes his system to fit the players he actually has either.

It's like we are in fricking limbo on offense

Sometimes I wonder if Saban lost to Auburn last year on purpose just so he can have an extra week of rest to get his team healthy and trick the Auburn BoT to give Gus a crazy contract. In the end it all worked out for Saban. He won another National Championship Title and screwed Auburn for years to come. That’s some 4d chess for your arse right there.

Honestly it isn't that surprising. Auburn may not be a national title team in 2018, but the talent level on the field is much better than the product. In the history of the game the only reason for such an issue has been leadership and chemistry.

AU brings in top 10 classes every year, so Gus is getting plenty of talent. Why isn't he signing the right players to fit the system? If he needs big bruising backs to carry the load then why all these scat backs, if he needs a DT Qb then why sign pocket passers?

I mean why is he targeting the wrong personnel?

Yep but AT LEAST Les was funny and likeable. Gus is an idiot that still thinks he is the smartest guy in the room.

True.

This situation has been the staple at Auburn for awhile now. Seems like you guys spend 2 or 3 years at rock bottom then have an amazing year or two.

Gus is certainly not a great coach. I don’t think he terrible, I think he gets complacent easily. He does better when he’s “on the hot seat” than he does when coming off a good season.

It does appear that Stidham has checked out. Who do y’all have behind him? Wonder if a threat of being benched would make him try harder.

Stidham may have been listed as a DT QB, but if you think stidham really is a true DT QB, it just says you don't know shite about football.

Recruiting ranks are fake as hell. A quick look at our RBs and OL show it to be true.

All this hate on Stidham after he masterfully led Auburn to 3 FGs vs State. tsk tsk...
