Tua is a football prodigy and like many sports prodigies he's a self-motivated perfectionist. I really believe Tua is so advanced he could coordinate Bama's offense and coach their other QBs. Seriously. This kid's father and uncle must be some serious coaches. Plus, the kid received NFL coaching from June Jones in high school. I really think it's kismet with Tua. His story from a purely football perspective is incredible. With that said, Tua brings 35-40 points every game for Bama. Bama really can afford to not have a great defense this year.

Last year's first six games: averaged 43 points per game
This year's first six games: averaged 56 points per game
We have looked far more impressive this year against a similar strength of schedule than last year.

Tua is a very good qb, is he great, we have no idea because he’s surrounded with so much great talent. That’s why drafting a bama qb or rb is so hard to do, because there’s always great receivers and above average linemen.

You realize the NFL people do this for a living, right? They don't always hit the mark, but they do tend to have a good idea of how to evaluate players both in and out of context. How many Bama QBs have been drafted during Saban's run? McCarron? McElroy, maybe? The NFL has shown it's perfectly capable of not drafting players like Sims and Coker as quarterbacks despite said players leading teams to the playoffs or the title.

If you think Tua is just a guy who can throw and throw it to great WRs I want you to do one thing the next time Tua is playing. Watch his head movements (pause). This guy is going through progressions, diagnosing defenses and looking off defensive corners and safeties. And, then Tua has no qualms about using his check down. He takes what defenses give him. Tua ain't ordinary.

I don’t think they’d be resting starters at halftime without Tua

Didn’t realize that at all, thought the flipped burgers for their main gig. Thanks for clarifying

Moi? I already gave my assessment of Tua earlier and it wasn't that he's 'ordinary.'

Well I said he was a very good qb, but I’m not going to crown him as great just yet.

Well, you were wrong, except in the case of Cleveland. But my daddy always said, a day when you learn something new is a day that hasn't been wasted. Or a day you need to get wasted. One of those. I should call my dad and clarify that point.

Arkansas, dude. fricking Arkansas.
When Joe Burrow looks like Joe Montana on November 3rd, I'll try real hard not to say I told you so.

Injury bug has caught up to Bama's defense. Gonna get interesting.

Not OSU: snicker
Not Clemson - very good DL talent, not playing like it. Bad back 7.
Not ND: snicker
Not UGA: mediocre DL, some talent but mostly inexperienced elsewhere. They haven't had a good secondary yet under Kirby.
Not OU or WVU: snicker
Not Tex: though not in the same category as OU or WVU, they are not a big time defense.
Bama's defense will not be great but it is now above average and will improve significantly before years' end. Bama's O is the best in the country by far.

If Bama traded QBs with every opponent this year, we might have a .500 record.
For example, if LSU played with Tua at QB and we had Burrow, we lose. If Auburn has Tua and we had Stidham etc ...
That’s the diff Tua makes. Bama is 30 points better.
No team can beat this Bama team playing balls out over four quarters.
Too many points.
Now, with Hurts, we might make the SEC championship game, but we lose to Georgia IMO. I mean we saw it in the championship last year. Hurts couldn’t move this offense against Ga. And I’m not buying he’s that much better now.
Could be wrong. But our offense is still producing a lot less once Hurts takes the field, even against inferior opposition.
What people fail to realize is that all our game managers from the past were better passers and saw the field better than Hurts.
