Who do you want to win?

For as much as I would like Florida to suffer, building the reputation of the East is never bad for business.

Who are you pulling for on Saturday?

I’ve spent this life of mine rooting against Florida so I’m not sure why I’d stop now

The "Go SEC!" people are some of the worst, but now we have an even bigger depth of retardation by someone being a fan of a friggin division.

I'm pulling for missisippi state, because florida is our rival. Because we have a century long history with them, because they've caused us so much torment, because we recruit against them, because a loss gives us another leg up in the division race, I mean FFS man is there a single positive reason NOT to pull against florida?

Please tell me this is a troll. I could be at my sons bar mitzvah and have UF playing the Nazis with the Führer himself coaching on the sidelines and I'd be decked out head to toe in my swastika jersey throwing hail Hitler the whole game.

You are seriously considering rooting for Florida in an SEC game for the sake of the reputation of the East. I've seen a lot of stupid lately, but this is impressive.

This isn't the NFL with 16 teams getting into the playoff based upon wins and losses.

College football has been this way for a long, long, long time. Who you beat is important.
And going undefeated is very, very rare.

I don't know who I am pulling for. But to imply that I've never rooted for a rival when it could help UGA get into the playoff is flat out lying.

We don't get the Bama bump. And our OOC of GT isn't going to win any bonus points this season.

How many of you would prefer a 1 loss UGA left out of the playoff versus rooting for a GT, Auburn, or UF to get a wins over ranked opponents?

UF is not going to be a top 15 team this year. If they have 3 losses or 6, it won't affect our playoff hopes so long as we TCB. So of course I always pull against them.

whether florida wins or loses this game has less than 0 bearing on us getting into the playoffs though. The only way we get into the playoffs is with a 12-0 or 11-1 regular season and beating bama in the SECCG. Florida's record is entirely irrelevant to that.

I don't care about Florida hate or grudge matches. I'm pulling against Florida because we need all of our East opponents to go 0 for 2 against the west division. Some folks are assuming that Georgia has nothing to fear from the East this year, but that's not true. Winning the division isn't a foregone conclusion at all and it's hard to predict who might be the spoiler.

It is a 1 loss division rival playing an SEC game. There is literally 0.00000 reason to want them to win in any way shape or form. If the Dawgs somehow trip up in Jacksonville (a story we've seen before) and UF doesn't lose to Miss State Saturday they would hold a tie breaker over us if we win both out. Cmon man, its not that hard. UF should lose, always, every time they play, forever.

I agree.

But I do still think that the quality wins built up by our opponents could offset the fact that we do not have a quality OOC opponent.

If every team we beat looks like GT, then there is the chance that we don't get in even at 1 loss (I promise you that the national pundits would be arguing that point even if we win the SEC. They like nothing better than to tear down the SEC stigma).

Historically, Fla has always struggled at Starkvegas even going back 50-60 years ago. Miss St tends to give them their best shot.

Miss St looked pretty tame against UK last week. Benny Snell is probably the best RB in the conference. I knew he was good but he is better than I thought.

No we don't.It's imperative for our SOS that they're
successful especially against good teams from the west.

You really think it helps us if Mizzou,UT,SC and Vandy go 0-2 vs the SECW?

We ain't getting a bump from MTSU,AP,UMASS or GT.

It pretty much is and if we cant beat all our division opponents this year we got bigger problems than worrying about the playoffs.

So RD Dawg is pulling for the Gators this weekend too?

Lew, can you add some sort of asterisk to these profiles/names of all of the newfound Gator fans? Maybe put a cone of shame around their avatar?

this doens't matter though. We could even trade out tech for ULM and it wouldn't matter.

If we win the SEC this year we are in the playoffs.

What's more beneficial to us?

Ill pull for whoever gives us the slightest SOS bump no matter how small.

You think UF challenges us in the SECE with 1 conference loss already?

florida losing is more beneficial to us as a program.

Once again, the number of losses UF has will have zero bearing whatsoever on us getting to the playoffs.

Take last year for instance. UF and UT were straight garbage, SC was good, UK and mizz were decent. Tech was bad, ND was good, a few cupcakes. Pretend ND went 2-10, or that we traded them out for a 1AA school. Do you think we would have missed out on the playoffs even after going 12-1 and being SEC champs? Of course not.

Our playoff hopes hinge on us winning the SEC, not whether UF has an extra loss against MSU.

For this particular game, this is my thought.

It's not to say that Florida winning is *never* a good thing for us. But at least for this specific game, there really isn't any value to a UF win. They already lost to Kentucky. So did Miss St. So in the "pecking order", the SEC East already moved up the only peg they had to move up there really. In some years, Florida/LSU could be a boost to our SOS if UF wins, but this year, because we play LSU, would clearly be better for us for LSU to win (which they likely will).

Basically... if UF isn't going to be a top 25ish team in all likelihood, there is functionally no positive difference for us whether they win 6 or 8 games. As a result, frick them... lose as many as they can. Struggle recruiting. And keep them in the shite heap at the bottom. Get back on the coaching carousel in a few seasons and watch the shite show.

They won't be down forever, so I am frankly going to enjoy the frick out of the shitshow in Gainesville at present.
