Now, I see Shannon Sharpe is agreeing with me. And, I posted what I said about Deionte in the Score Board. Deionte is at safety what Tua is at QB. Incredible players. And, these two guys aren't just incredible physically but mentally as well. Very high football IQ guys.

"Thompson, Alabama’s safety is the best college safety I’ve seen in since Sean Taylor (Rest his soul). Don’t @ me."

Deionte Compared to Sean Taylor

"In 14yrs of playing in the NFL, Ed Reed was the gr8est safety I studied on tape. Thompson’s range and ball skills reminds me of Reed. I’m not saying he’ll be that, but this kid jumps on the screen."

He's faster than a well oiled Excel formula.

Ryan Clark tweeted that Deionte is better than everyone who was in Bama's secondary last season. LINK

The draft will prove it.

Lofty comparison for a guy who couldn't beat out Hootie Jones.

Some players blossom late. He was playing much better than Hootie Jones by the end of last season.

Nick Saban is a very loyal coach to those players that give it all and what is expected of them.

Lol. Leave it to an LSU fan to be salty as frick about a player that spurned them 5 years ago, and is no longer in college.

At this point in their careers no way to know that for sure.

Bama fans will say Thompson, LSu fans will say Delpit. It's what fans do...

Both are elite players, both Soph season and they both have a long way to go before NFL.

Depot had a great game vs Au. His play reminds me a lot of Mark Barron (which is a very high compliment) both tall, tangy and are great at run support, playing close to LOS.

I like both players and no one can say one is significantly better or know who will get drafted first.. if they both continue to play like they have and improve both are first day picks.. elite safeties are highly sought after in the l NFL.

He was a true freshman for fricks sake. He ended the season as a starter, not many fresh can come to Bama and start, especially DBs.
