Thoughts on the game from in the stadium

On the last drive, the first PI call the ref threw the flag before the ball was even thrown so I don't know how it was PI. Maybe holding or something that I wasn't watching but not PI.
The second call the corner was looking back at the ball and playing the ball. Don't know how you can call PI. Both the corner and the WR have a equal opportunity to go after the ball.
With that said, I refuse to ever blame refs for a loss. I'm sure there were bad calls the other way too. That's why you don't put yourselves in situations to let the refs decide. We had plenty of opportunities but didn't take them. LSU's last TD should've been a INT. Carlson missed a kick. Offense didn't do shite in the second half.
Also damn some Aubbies were melting in the stands. Getting pissed at LSU for celebrating a big W.
Just another classic game in the series.

Refs missed calls both ways. But we’re the only ones that get to cry about it.
Your 2nd possession was 100% fumble.
Your 2nd possession was 100% fumble.

Ok, now what was the corners arms doing?

I'm sure you had a better view from your nosebleeds than we had on the CBS telecast

At a minimum holding might be right on not PI

CB held LSU WR arm down and got caught

The first should have been defensive holding. Still a first down.
The second, the corner was holding the receiver's arm down. Textbook PI.

1st call - the db hooked the wr so it could have been holding early in the route
The 2nd - the db held down the right arm of the wr
PI all the way

Ed O smoked a cigar right before the winning field goal

So you don’t want to talk about the fact that the refs missed a clear fumble?
Also- Aranda made changes in the second half to offset your rpo plays by running White at the center causing the holdings. You didn’t beat yourself, you just plain got beat

They called the wrong thing, but it was definitely defensive holding

Turning and looking for the ball doesn't give you license to hold down the receiver's arm

if you're holding the receivers arm down it doesn't matter if you look back for the ball

T.V. replay clearly showed the receiver’s arm being pulled down by the corner right as the ball is getting there. That’s a straightforward call.

In all fairness, judging by the first quarter stats, Auburn should have never even been in the game.
But that’s why the game is 4 quarters. Anything can happen. A big play can change momentum, a bad call (or no call) here and there (it happens in almost all games), an unfortunate injury.... all these things are part of the game.
The refs were inconsistent. They didn’t favor one team over another and all the calls they made were legitimate calls. My issue is the no calls. There were plenty of legitimate PIs that were not called (on both teams). Then there was the taunting call that we got yet the Auburn player who taunted our QB in his face not 5 minutes earlier was not called. Be realistic about the push in Stidham that extended the drive resulting in a score. It was an extremely ticky tacky call and the “hit to the face mask” was extremely incidental. You also probably should have had a player ejected for targeting on our 2 point conversion play.
But like I said, this is just part of the game. As long as the refs are not favoring one side (and they clearly were not), it is what it is and you have to roll with it.

Grabbed the receivers hips out of the break completely stopping momentum, definitely holding. Should have been 10 not 15 but still a penalty with automatic first down

WR had two hands, DB has to let him use both or it’s a penalty. Pretty simple

I was very surprised this was not reviewed

Auburn fans that were in the stadium will chill if/when they go home and watch the replay. They were “mislead” by the Auburn replay video operator in the 4th quarter.
There could be an argument for holding instead of pass interference on the throw down the middle on the final LSU drive (depends if ball was already in air or not), but either way it results in an LSU first down... As Gary Danielson said “Absolutely. That’s a great call by the official there. It wasn’t at the end of the play that the crowd is looking at, it was early in the route.” The fans in the stadium were not shown the clear and blatant hold.
The second PI to put LSU in FG range was textbook PI. I’m sure everyone has seen the picture by now. As Danielson said, “Yep, no question on that one ... that’s just undiciplined football... you can’t allow that to happen, he’s grabbing him the whole way. He’s holding down his right arm.”

Negative. Watched it this morning. He was still covered by the guy who tackled him. Ball was recovered a few yards behind him. LSU player came up with the ball. Go look.
