This game has had huge implications for this team all offseason, and no doubt has been marked on the calendar as the revenge game. Last year was a terrible showing, one that all of the Mizzou players want to bury with a big win.

I’m expecting the playbook to open up, and the run game to benefit from it. The D should be hungry to eat. And the team should be fired up and ready to pound some boilermakers.

Purdue has looked pretty poor through the first two games. The personnel losses look like they’ve taken a toll. It doesn’t add up for a good match against the Tigers. That said, they probably know what’s coming and are getting as prepared as they can.

Prediction: Drew Lock does Drew Lock things and throws for 5 TDs before he exists the game halfway through the 4th quarter. The run game shows it is a factor as the dynamic duo rush for over 200 yards and two TDs. McCann hits one too. The Defense steps up to the plate and is more than Purdue is expecting, but they still puts some points on the board.

51-20 Mizzou rolls

Sindelaar came into the game for Purdue at QB last week and couldn’t hit the broad side of the barn.

Eastern Michigan had a pretty good QB, grad transfer from Iowa.

Purdue put up over 300 yds on the ground. But I don’t expect them to repeat that against us.

I’d guess that Mizzou wins by 17–21 points.

Not going to lie, this game does make me a bit nervous. Only because it's the first road test and Purdue will be trying to salvage their season.

That being said, I really like what I'm seeing out of the Tigers. The only thing I haven't been happy with is the running game.

I say we take another step and beat them by 15 or more.

It certainly could be a closer game than my prediction. But, I think they’ll have a much tougher time running the ball against the interior of our D line. And I think the offense clicks. Not saying that’s what’s going to happen. It could be a much closer game and Purdue could put up a fight.

Purdue should be 2-0 or 1-1. Two losses by a combined 5 points.

Second week in a row that turnovers have really hurt the offense(3 against NW and at least 2 against EW).

Just like last year it could be a easy game to overlook.

frick. I was really hoping the game wasn’t on Big 10 Network. The same thing ocurred at Indiana in 2013. So I’m stuck with radio 2 weeks in a row.

Purdue will be in desperation mode trying to stave off that third loss. Question will be how long that desperation boost can keep them in it.

I'm hoping MU busts through the desperation-inspired play about halfway through the second quarter and is putting the game away late in the 3rd.

Let's use the 4th quarter to boost the running #s!.

We should win by two touchdowns, which is what we should have done last year. Purdue is 0-2, let’s not embarrassed ourselves again

Purdue has outgained both opponents. Turnovers and stupid late penalties have cost them both games.

Mizzou should still win, but Purdue isn’t as bad as their record would indicate.

Purdue gave up 300 yards passing to a directional Michgain school last week and they haven’t decided on who their QB will be yet. Lock and hall are finna eat. I got Mizzou winning big.

I agree that the Purdue running game is decent, hopefully our D can stop the run.

The D has done well against the run so far correct? It's the DB's that bother me. Hilton flat out scares me and has anyone actually defended a pass yet?

Hilton had a pass breakup against Wyoming

Correct; I think we have the makings of a pretty good run D. The backend is playing better.

Purdue will get yards running off the edge. Mizzou is stout up the middle, but less proven against edge runs.

Not sure why Hilton would scare you. He isn't the hardest hitter or best tackler but he is pretty decent in pass defense. I wouldn't count on him to help bring down any SEC RBs.

The huge pass play breakdowns this year have happened with him out of the game if my memory serves me right.
