I’m talking managing expectations and developing an offensive identity... being better than just a defensive coordinator who yells a lot and recruits well.

6-plus years as a head coach and he’s not really close to doing it yet... just curious if anyone thinks he can.

His offenses will always suck. He needs to recruit better along the trenches.

He's a ten-win season away at SC from being able to bring in the classes to compete with the elite.

The problem is getting to that plateau. I like Champ and think he can do it. I think that he has improved as a coach, and will continue to do so.

Will he ever be elite? Meh...who knows. But he is the right guy for SC. Definitely.

South Carolina can't compete with Clemson.

Muschamp can't coach offensive players or recruit QBs.

What has changed since Florida?

He is already a good coach but he is caught in a buzzsaw right now. GA and Clemson are both peaking. Thats bad for SC

I’m not saying you’re wrong... just curious why you think that.

His offenses have been ranged from bad to mediocre... and now he’s got a 3-year starter at QB but it looks the same.

I think he's done a better job at a program that is harder to win at so far than he did at Florida. I think his demeanor is light years better. I'm not sure what his "ceiling" would be at this point, but I think he's settled in at a place where he can be a thorn in people's side and win at a level that is consistent with the expectation level.

He still has obvious flaws, but I think he's been much more open to change than he initially was. The offense wasn't good against Georgia, but Georgia is a terrifying good and athletic football team. And Carolina tried to throw the ball around and spread it out. They just didn't have the horses.

He's currently 16-12 (8-9) at a place where that is better than the norm after taking over a 3 win team that had NO players. His 9 win season last year was better than any of his years at Florida outside of 2012, and that was with a roster of mostly Spurrier guys and freshmen he recruited.

He took over a 3 win team. I mean good lord, just because we aren’t on the level of UGA and clemson doesn’t mean he hasn’t improved.

It’s the same story with this site. If he wins a game, everyone talks about how improved he is. When he loses a game, everyone talks about how it’s the same ole Muschamp

What if I told y’all we had these same problems before Muschamp? He didn’t take over a good team or a good program. shite takes time.

This is kinda funny but .... we put up what, 350 yards of offense on UGA yesterday?

Bookmark this. It may read crazy but that'll probably be one of the top three offensive outputs against this UGA defense during their regular season by the time all is said and done. Unless they get bored and have a total letdown or they lose a half dozen players to injury ... 330-350 will be the max this UGA D will give-up to anyone this year.

Tua and Bama will do better. Auburn maybe. I'm not sure LSU will do much better, maybe they will. But it'll be rare when anyone puts up more than 300 yards on that UGA D.

And, fwiw, SC's offense will prove itself to be fairly damn good this season. They really will ... but not against UGA. That defense is stifling. Just wait. Watch. You have to see them in action to really understand how talented this UGA D is.

Y'all quite worrying about SC. Boom is going to get us there eventually. He's a recruiting machine. He'll use this to our benefit. But I'm not sure anyone is going to outrecruit Georgia in the near future. They are on one of those rare rolls you see a program here and there get-on once every decade or so. Tennessee did it in the 90s. FSU and Florida had some good years. Bama has been doing it for about a decade now. Looks like it's Georgia's turn apparently.

Muschamp and Pruitt have the same issue; low IQ. It's difficult to compete with others who are just Smarter (pun intended) than you.

No. A lot of my fellow UGA fans stick to the notion that Muschamp is a good coach because he is a former Dawg and they want him to be successful. That's great and all, but he's a bad head coach. Good DC, bad head coach.

Everyone should have realized it when he took the USCe job. After getting canned at UF for terrible offenses, what is his first move at USCe in regards to the offense? Hire Kurt Roper as his OC, the exact same guy who was arguably his worst OC at UF.

Hiring one of the same guys who got you fired from your last job is not learning from your mistakes. And what happens? More disappointing offense so he fires Roper after two seasons at USCe.

So after last year he's sitting there needing an OC. His offense got him canned at Florida. It's going to happen again at USCe if things don't get better. It's unlikely he'll ever get another major head coaching job if he gets canned from USCe, which means there are literal millions on the line. Probably the most important decision of his life. And what does he do? He hires a guy who has never been an OC and who is known as a recruiter.

That's a horrible head coaching move. South Carolin has the ability to hire someone experienced. Muschamp's career as a head coach depends on the success of this coordinator. And he hires someone that has never done the job?

Decisions like these are why he'll never be successful in a meaningful way.

We're about to find out. He has had the UGA game front and center for the players and fans all year long. That balloon was popped big time on Saturday. Let's just see how long it takes them to get over this loss and play up to their ability. I say they are in the emotional toilet for a minimum of four games.

I hate to burst your bubble. But those were 3rd and 4th stringers in the 4th quarter.

We got playing time on the road for a ton of guys.

I agree that you should look for positives.
You have talent.
I think you have the coaching staff in place.
It is going to take time time to build the team to an East competitor.

Yards through 3 quarters at home in a loss probably isn't where you should be looking.
