Get the Arkansas game back on campus in 2024. At that time, we'll have 4 SEC home games every year, plus two rented games. We can schedule a major home and home each year (ND, USC, Michigan, whatever), plus a home and home with Texas, to be played on Sunday night before labor day. I bet we could get a massive ten year TV deal for that game alone. That gives us 7 home games each year, only two of which are against cupcakes, starts the year each year against the sips, and makes a ton of money.

Would you favor this?

Why would we do a home and home for a cupcake game?

I can't tell if I was unclear, or if you're making a crack about the sips.

The money would be unreal, the fan and national exposure would be fantastic, and it would be a fun way to start the year.

(Edit: I expect most people are going to hare this idea. But I think there is something to it.)

Yes of course but the SEC IS TOOOOO SKRONG and WHY RISK GIVING TEXAS THE UPPER HAND pansies will shoot it down with quickness.

Also, I'd much rather play them on TDay during rivalry week while moving the LSU game back to early in the year like it used to be.

Yes. It doesn’t seem like our admin has any interest in 2 P5 OOC games though.

I'm really hoping that mentality ends when the albatross of the Southwest Classic is done with but I wouldn't be surprised to see that bullshite extended when the deal is up.

Some of that might have to do with the Arkansas game, though. As things stand, the only way to get two P5 games is to have some hears with only 6 home games. Once that contract ends, we could stagger the two home and home series.

There’s a reason why rivalry games happen at the end of the year. Why would two teams agree to have one of them immediately get punched in the dick game 1?

It’s not a question of risk.

It’s a question of fairness. Why should we schedule a game with a team that has one of the (if not the) worst records of cheating on the field and off?

Not run-of-the-mill paying players. Everyone does that.

Using the NCAA investigative committee to sanction teams that beat you while the chairman of the committee is a sip kind of cheating.

I have no interest in ever playing them again. We will never get a fair game.

Getting Arkansas to a home and home sounds great but frick the Sips, there is no national outcry for the game to come back and there is zero upside for us to start it back up.

Absolutely be in favor of going to a home and home with Arkansas. This Dallas stuff ran its course 4 years ago.

Nah I like playing them in JerryWorld and beating them in front of Jerruh as painfully as possible.

Only thing I am 100% behind. Jerryworld sucks and is overpriced. I went to that game once and that will be it.

The tu game should be back on thanksgiving. Yes, it makes them stronger, but it makes us stronger too. For that week, all of Texas is either longhorn or Aggie. Cancelling the game has given rise to the lessor Texas schools, and seen more top recruits go OOS.

Hell, I remember we picked sides in middle school. We’d have door decorating contests at school for one side or the other. No one dreamed of growing up and going to Oklahoma State.

All the downvotes are amusing - considering there’s another thread about renewing the series that’s 5 pages deep since July and ends with most of us dickriding a lacrosse school.

We would have out of conference refs since it'd be a non conference matchup.

I don't know why everyone complains about that game. I like it. It's a yearly game in our own backyard and our fans consistently outnumber Hog fans. Extend that bitch as long as possible!

Hell no. Make them earn it by being bowl eligible and the SEC office assigning it.

Or when the state leg mandates us playing. Until then, frick them, their alums, their bagmen, and that shite city.
