I am talking about slave owner Wade Hampton being the owner of more slaves than anyone else. Tillman came long after slavery was ended.
It is disingenuous to call Clemson University out for having Tillman's name on a building while your stadium sits on Millwood Plantation.

So your comparing something that was legal at the time against something that was illegal at the time it was done. Read your history, slavery was not a white club only in fact thousands of blacks owned slaves. One of the largest slave owners in south carolina was a black man.

Even though Clemson wants to hold on to Dabo (as they should) my mentioning that we don’t want him throws them into fits. Ha! That, ladies and gentlemen, is demonstrative of their collective insecurity.
