This kid along with Walthour have killed our rating. We need a few more DTs however, so welcome aboard.

I must say this is a pretty embarrassing signing for UGA. 3 stars? How are ya'll going to win the pre-season national championship that you always award yourselves every year bringing in guys like that? CandyMan Kirby better do better than this.

Bama has what some consider to be the best place kicker of the past 10 years. He is a worse hit to their rating than this DT is to UGA. And you know that this kid, though a 3 star, is a good player who will likely contribute. It's possible that he will be better than some 4 and 5 stars. UGA is not begging for kids, the reverse is true. Any top 10-15 recruiting program who is taking even 2 stars now are doing it because they think the kid can play. Most coaches do not rely on the ratings.
Jalen Moody is a 3 star LB that Bama probably did have to "settle" for last year. I say that because he was a last minute take after Bama missed on others. He has been a pleasant surprise for Bama thus far. It's still early but he has performed better than many of the 4 stars.
Yes, I would rather have 25 4 stars than 25 3 stars, but looking at any specific recruit is somewhat of a guess. As I've mentioned in other threads, Bama had 2 walkons starting for its defense last year - one is still in an NFL camp. One had no offers, the other had no P5 offers, 4 non-P5: Old Dom, Tulane, UAB, West UK. You just never know.

Don’t give a damn if he’s a 3 star. If our staff likes him then who gives a shite. Stop star chasing and just remember we get plenty of kids the scouts drool over but it’s guys like this that are unheralded that come out of nowhere to help teams go on championship runs.

Id rather have the high 4 and 5 stars.
But I don't mind being pleasantly surprised when a Deandre Baker, Brian Herrien, or Tyreque McGhee shows out on the field.
