Did you even read the quick facts on the link you posted?

Kentucky is a southeastern state bounded by the Ohio River in the north and the Appalachian Mountains in the east, with Frankfort the state capital. The state's largest city, Louisville, is home to the Kentucky Derby, the renowned horse race held at Churchill Downs on the first Saturday in May. The race is preceded by a 2-week festival and celebrated in the Kentucky Derby Museum year-round.

How does that justify Kentucky as a southern state?

The Belmont is in new York and the Preakness is in maryland.

By association, I would say that Kentucky is rubbing elbows north of the mason dixon.

so if Minnesota's quick facts said "Minnesota is a southeastern state..." you'd be cool with that too?

Depends what operational definition you’re using for northern.

National Park Services - Civil War Facts
quote:

The Union included the states of Maine, New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kansas, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, California, Nevada, and Oregon. Abraham Lincoln was their President.

The Confederacy included the states of Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia. Jefferson Davis was their President.

Maryland, Delaware, West Virginia, Kentucky and Missouri were called Border States.

While some parts are hardly Southern (Louisville), Kentucky does offer:

Lexington
Bourbon
Horses
Mutton bbq
Country music and bluegrass

It isn't Alabama or South Carolina, but it is Southern enough.

- Still South of the Mason Dixon Line.

- Bourbon, Fried Chicken, and the Derby are about as Southern as it gets.

- Birthplace of Jefferson Davis.

- The flagship University is a charter member of the Southeastern Conference.

- If you’ve ever been here you’d know that the state largely embraces a Southern culture vs. Northern/Midwestern.

They are below the Mason-Dixon line and therefore a southern state. Did you not get taught history in elementary school?

Not just in the hollars. We went thru KY on our way to Panama City Beach one year on I24. I look across the interstate to see a grown man pissing with only an open truck door hiding his manhood.

I will say this, they have some of the best mowed/manicured roads I’ve come across.

Because unlike some of the pansy asses in the south, we actually leave statues up in the State House.
