I just took that article as coach speak:
Anyone can beat out anyone or a spot. Motivates the players.
I don’t think Salyer is going to play center. He’ll be starting at guard for us halfway through the season IMO (if not earlier).
I think we actually have pretty good WR depth, but obviously adding D Rob would help.
I think it’s tougher now than it was 10 years ago for these guys to right articles in fall camp because of how much more limited their access is than it used to be.

We need more competition.
There is a big difference running roughshod over the east. And then hitting a top 5 team in the country. Our OL got wore out against Bama. Any success that we found in the 2nd half was despite them. Not because of them. That goes for everyone not named Wynn.
We arent getting these guys ready for the college football season. We are getting them ready to go against future NFL starters. Future All Pros.
They absolutely need to be pushed if we are getting over the hump.

Like OU or Auburn?

The coaches’ main job is to get them to have success at the collegiate level so we win.

Well obviously. Do you think they haven’t been pushed up to this point?

Are they being pushed with competition?
Or is it merely coachspeak?
It is choice a. Or choice b.

Kirby loves to mix it up during camp. Probably just for show during media session. Only thing I could think of that would be bad, would be if something happened to Wilson, so they are moving around experience on the line for the tackle positions

These kids are the most talented set of OL in the country so i would imagine it’s crucial to have all of them ready should someone get hurt or they might be legit threats to take jobs as we seen Ben Cleveland do last year.

Otis is a Beast
Freshman safety Otis Reese (L) and cornerback Tyson Campbell. Otis may be just as good as Tree

Reese is working at STAR, which might be the best fit for him. Miss the days of having DBs lay the wood.

Otis may be jacked, but he’s getting worked by the smaller dude in Campbell. Otis balance and even arm leverage are lacking. That picture gives me more of a hard-on for Tyson and a hope that Otis listens and learns to get better

You realize that very well could just be a drill where they take turns being the blocking dummy.

Walter Grant is listed as an OLB but DN wrote this;
"Sophomore outside linebacker has an upside similar to Leonard Floyd and could provide some answers at inside linebacker and Star."
Is this code for saying Cox will see significant playing time at OLB with Grant at ILB at the same time? Help me out with this one.

The SLB and Star both have the same assignments. Grant could play the Star role depending on the type of offense/formation they're facing.
They may line him up at ILB on 3rd down at times (like they did with Zo Carter) but it's not the position he'll play in the base defense.

Cox is going to play. A lot. Dude is gooooooood.
Grant, Gibbs, and even Reese will appear in the star role at times.
We are honestly so stacked that it’s going to be impressive to see Kirby and Tucker deploy all of these tools

What's the deal with quay at ILB? I thought he was an OLB all the way but from practice reports it looks like he's getting lots of looks inside.

Quay was always recruited as an ILB that can flex out if needed.

What about Stokes working with the one's opposite Baker last Saturday? We all knew about his speed but he was very raw coming out, could he really beat out Campbell and Webb? We have not heard a lot about Ameer Speed this camp, is he falling back on the depth chart?
