Bama ... four teams in the top 10.

Btw, any one of those teams and even the other two ranked 11 & 12 would have beaten the 2013 FSU squad.

2013 FSU too high.

2010 AU too low.

I think a couple of the Bama teams were ranked a little low but I can’t complain too much about having five teams in the top 11.

Said the same thing on the Tiger Rant, but it's the top 20 Championship teams, solely ranked analytically.

Title is misleading.

Bama with 5 of the top 11 and loses to 3 of the teams on that list (Florida 2008, Clemson 2016, and OSU 2014) kept other Bama teams from making the list.

Not a bad list overall, but I'd have tried to find a way to put 2011 LSU on there. That was a really good team and definitely one of the top 20 of the past 20 years.

They should really do a top 40. Disregarding the runners up is flawed, 2011 LSU would certainly beat several of the teams that were listed.

2011 LSU not being on that list is pretty stupid and should immediately be a red flag that your analytics suck.

I may be biased but that 2011 LSU team should be somewhere on that list. They were better than 03 and 07.

Also 2001 Miami should be #1.

2004 USC had the benefit of playing a weak OU team. I remember them struggling with a horrible UCLA team and escaping Cal. Auburn would've gave them a great game.

Agreed. Cadillac and Ronnie Brown were studs that year.

2001 Miami's roster was incredible, but they had.........

- a really close, really late win over 8-4 BC
- a really close win over 8-4 Virginia Tech

Best opponents
11-2 Nebraska (#8)
10-3 Syracuse (#14)
8-4 FSU (#15)
8-4 Virginia Tech (#18)
8-4 Washington (#19)
8-4 Boston College
7-5 Pitt

It's crazy to see a team play basically no elite teams compared to this day and age where bar none you have to at least beat 1 and probably 2 elite teams in the playoffs to win a title.

They were a great team with an insane roster, but it was kind of a boring, non competitive slate culminating with a title game against a very meh Nebraska team which was very much showing itself to be the beginning of the meh Nebraska teams we've seen since that game.

I’m almost positive it is just ranking the championship teams.

2011 LSU did not win the National Championship as far as I’m aware.

2013 FSU is way too high, Auburn should have won that game. I think 2011 Bama should be higher too. That and the 1992 Bama defenses are probably the best I’ve ever seen.
