What would AUFans and this board be like if the following player had come to Auburn and then did not make it?

A player who was the No. 2 running back and No. 35 overall prospect in the 2016 recruiting class.

He ran for 173 yards in six games as a freshman in 2016 then left last July.

The ex-Alabama running back told his hometown newspaper, the Morganton News Herald in North Carolina, that he's taking the year off from football and will continue to take classes at Hutchinson Community College.

B.J. Emmons was going to FAU, but instead is taking a year off.

Wow. Weird situation.

And to answer your question, they would blame Gus.

Honestly, I hope we have one back that can play at this level. The idea we might have 3 historically means we don't have any. See the QB situation in 2016.

I think two options for everydown backs plus a speed guy is a good situation.

3 QBs doesn’t work because gus’s QB isn’t a plug and play position. The offense is dictated by what the QB does well

It'd be nice to be so stacked we could process someone like that. I'm pretty sure Emmons blamed it on lack of playing time.

Boobie has the size to carry the load but needs to work on his blocking and catching out of the backfield.
Can't block?

Oh well, wish him better luck next year!

Just wanted to bump this thread from a year and half ago when Boobie started having problems with the coaching staff and I was butchered for my inside info I actually had. Still to this day, I still think Jones and Blzr are a little bitch for how they acted.

I remember your post now. The Lafayette part was a real distraction from your post imo. He could’ve been constantly late from off campus housing and nothing changes.
Also running home possibly to mommy in Lafayette can be seen in a soul nurturing way that can actually endear people to Boobee

With that said, the recent departure doesn’t confirm your OP to be accurate. Just makes it more likely to be accurate and more believable. Don’t know if you know this, but nobody wants to hear from insiders. Nothing personal. You have to be batting 100 percent right out of the gate. Kinda like your job application out of college.

I think you have to understand the situation. New guy comes on. Weird screen name, has like 10 posts and throws out some serious stink bait. This is TigerDroppings you know. People are going to need more than your opinion.

It was two years ago that you had info on him being a problem. How did he hang on so long? I saw a lot of changes in his attitude this year on the field. Getting into altercations on the field and even with the refs. I brought that up and even thought I felt like he was our best back right now, that was concerning.

But certainly you had to understand people not necessarily believing any inside info from a new guy. I dont believe in any inside info from the guys that have been here forever.

Reading something on one site and transferring it over to this one does not mean you have inside info... It means you have a subscription and a lot of time on your hands. And that was not directed at you Aubbieinyourgrill.....

Boobie is the most talented RB on the roster so I fully expect him to frick it up somehow in dramatic fashion just like Dyer, just like Pettway, just like Jovon, etc.

I’ve been called worse

You said he’d never see the field and that was my contention with the post. You, I, nobody knows who’s going to play. And let’s be honest here, you said absolutely nothing about his attitude. Whether you were right or wrong about his tardiness issue it didn’t keep him off the field.

Boobee was named starter within two months of your post and ultimately had 300+ carries at Auburn. Just shy of 1000ish snaps and top 30 in rushing yards at “RBU”. He saw the field (a lot), you missed on that, and nobody still cares about him going home and seeing mommy.

While searching for an article that I was looking for, I happened upon another article that said Steele really wanted Boobee to play defense. It wasn’t until Chip was on board and days prior to NSD that we offered Boobee as a WR. Boobee was an exceptional athlete. He didn’t have an eye popping highlight film but man he was so versatile.

Actually we do... Far better contributions to the board than your constant snarky afterthought remarks. You should probably petition Chicken to create a Conference USA board to discuss UAB athletics.

Damn luke. Blzr has a family

His high school film was the stupidest highlights I’ve ever seen. Almost no OL play and Boobee running for his life, creating 70 yard runs that only gained 10 yards and tons of deep balls

He really hit the roster at the right point. There’s few other times in Auburn history where he would have stood a chance in the RB room.
