Oklahoma State is not a G5. If they were a G5 they’d be 12-0 every year similar to Boise back in the day

Reread my post, I didn't say they'd be a G5.

If they were in the conference right now, they'd be above average football-wise, even contend for a conference championship once a decade.

Same with basketball. They are no Duke or UNC but their program is good enough to get into the tourney most years.

They'd be a perfect fit for the ACC. I'd wager the ACC, if they could, would dump wake forest for WVU in a heartbeat.

I feel like they tried already and the ACC said no.

My bad. I meant to say Texas Tech. They’re too good for G5. They’re no Power 5 blue blood but at the same time they’re better than G5.. I guess American would fit them well. They’d pick up a rivalry with SMU and U of H quickly.

Tech is probably tied to Texas.

The fact is the ACC doesn't need any footprint in Texas as they have been doing good recently. It is the PAC that is desperate with a shitty network that doesn't make near the money they expected.

I could see the PAC being so desperate as to outright merge with the Big 12, maybe by excluding programs from both current conferences.

Yeah, I think the most logical spot for Tech is the pac-12. I'd be shocked if the pac-12 accepted another religious school though(tcu, baylor).

Pac-12 is kind of a weird half-breed of SEC/Big10 with academics. They have some top schools(like standford) and some glorified high schools like arizona state. I'm not sure how much pressure there would be to only accept AAU universities(texas is one, tech is not).

Good point. The PAC might go after OU OSU Texas and TCU. That would be something

OU and OSU will never be invited to the SEC if A&M, Arkansas and Mizzou have any say.

Why would you want them? What would they add?

shite, they’d almost bring more than all of the other 3 combined. OU is a blue blood and that trumps a&m. Osu is equal to Arkansas and Mizzou for sure. I don’t see why anyone would be against it. If anyone, Texas should be the ones the members have a problem with joining.

You don't see why Aggies would object to adding two teams that basically live off of Texas talent to the SEC?
