I do not trust cronin. He was off tonight. He was off against Texas tech. Who do you go too if we need 3 outs.

Cronin has been nasty, what? They dropped a pop up. Good grief.

He's likely not available tomorrow anyways.

Yeah, Cronin is done. Maybe Ramage to close it. Maybe we can be up big and not need a closer.

He shouldn't have been brought in for a 5 out save in the first place. It took too many pitches for him to get out of the 8th, and he was completely gassed by the last out in the 9th after throwing 42 pitches.

He's done for this series.

True. I thought we should've pulled him after we got the 2nd out. Anyone paying attention could tell he was laboring. He consistently was missing high every pitch. Very little control. I have no doubt in my mind if svroggins is brought in with 2 outs we are celebrating right now. Oh well

Correct, especially after pitching the night before.

Arguably an even worse decision when the 5 outs include a couple top draft pics who are not intimidated by mid 90s fastballs.

I fricking hate that Cronin has a filthy slider and NEVER throws it. fricking throw the slider when you've thrown 20 straight fastballs. He would have had guys swinging 3 hours early.

When they brought him in I told my wife I didn't like it at all because of that reason, and I'm not a fan of 2 inning saves unless the reliever is in a jam and it's time for a pitching change before momentum shifts. I added that we'd better win this fricking game because we'd burned our closer and would be in a bind tomorrow if we lost.

Unfortunately I was right. I've seen this movie too many times as a Hog fan. FML

Blaine Knight. May as well let him close this dream season out.

Me eithere but I'd bet all of Cronin's saves this year have been 2+ innings. They mentioned last night he hadn't throw in back-to-back games all season, which is crazy to think.

Aside from the late emergence of Loeske, which probably wouldn't have happened without Cronin getting sick, we haven't really developed any guys to rely on this year out of the pen.

Reindl used to be solid coming in as a setup guy. Not sure why he's lost it, but I wouldn't trust him at all right now.

Yeah he's been off for what, the last month or so? Not sure I'd bring him in unless we had a large lead without trying out some other guys first.

And that's the problem. It's basically been the 3 starters, Reindl, Loseke, Cronin, and occasionally Lee all year. We haven't really developed any other arms this year like we have in the past. But that's what got us here so it's hard to complain too much.

Ramage has been tough lately. What about Bonin? Not sure how much more Loseke has left.

I like both Ramage and Bonnin, just wish they had a little more experience to this point. Right now I'd go Bonnin in middle relief and Ramage to close it out. I think Loseke still has maybe 1 inning left.

My latest theory is that we are all dead, and for our sins Lucifer has condemned us to being Hog fans. Its far more entertaining for him then simply dunking us in rivers of boiling blood and what not.

Still, we can't complain too much. The truly vile sinners are condemned to being Cleveland or Ole Miss fans.
