Hence why I said a year ago that there was poison in the program. There are some pissed off parents with new regime on the amount of time non-starters get versus starters, and for some reason they want him gone, but we're so much better off than a year ago.

I read this the other day it was just so depressing I didn't even feel like sharing it

It really was a big downer to read.

It was pretty interesting that the player sorta took up for Meredith Jenkins, saying that the media got that part of the story wrong.

Meredith Jenkins,
Was fired yesterday.

6 Auburn athletics administrators fired.
Among those let go were chief communications officer Ward Swift, senior associate athletic directors Bernard Hill and David Mines, senior women's administrator Meredith Jenkins and chief revenue officer Michael McBride, the source said.
The longest tenured of those five was Jenkins, who started working at Auburn in July 1994. She spent 11 years in media relations and has been the SWA for the last several years.
Jenkins was involved in the Auburn softball scandal last year, including instructing players to delete text messages obtained from a teammate's phone that proved an inappropriate relationships between a player and then-assistant coach Corey Myers, who resigned that same day, March 30, 2017. Clint Myers resigned in August amid a Title IX investigation into him and his son, Jenkins was not the softball administrator this past season and athletic director Jay Jacobs resigned in November.

With the clusterbumblefrickedness that went on with that whole deal, almost regardless of fault or blame, everyone associated with any of that stuff probably needed to be canned.

The article was well written, but did not provide any new information about Auburn. What happened with the softball team is very sad.
The only information that I was unaware of was that Corey was the 4th overall pick in the MLB Draft. I knew he had played, but was unaware he was such a hot prospect.
Daddy was blinded by his own son, Clint still seems like a decent person but he also had to go.

Holy hell that was the longest article of absolutely no content I've read in my life. It was well written, but with a horrible agenda to prove yet no facts to prove it with that he could print.
That article did make one thing clear, and that's that Jay Jacobs is a poor leader. He should have been in the middle of that whole ordeal andgotten down to the bottom of it immediately or canned everyone's arse that wouldn't talk to him.
Yet, he threw everyone he could to sidestep the matter like it was a political issue he didn't want to pick a side on.
Furthermore, he hired Corey even after his clear issues in the last including another University that wouldn't let him coach any longer. I'm glad he's gone. Frankly, anyone that has a $500k pension that takes a lower level position somewhere else has issues imo. He can't take not having the ability to make decisions any longer, while he was crappy at making them.
I'm also not convinced that Clint didn't tell Jacobs early on that if Corey is fired Clint would quit. So Jacobs did everything he could to side step which burned Auburn, instead of dealing with it appropriately early on.

It was like they were trying to make the entire thing into a novel.

I read the article...did Corey Myers actually bang one of the player or just sexually pressure her? I dont say "just" like its not bad. but its less than having sex with the player.

I do believe you are related to Jay Jacobs. I get some of the hate is over the top, but ANY criticism towards him attracts you like a moth to a flame.

I am thinking it was sexting/photos/talk/innuendo. Still a big no-no for a coach and a player, but I don't think he was banging anyone.

...however there is this:
"Then, in the summer of 2016, Fagan started walking a friend's dog early in the morning by the softball complex. She began seeing Corey's car parked next to the car of another player, the player who had always been quiet, enigmatic, set apart. Fagan took pictures and sent them to teammates."
and some unfortunate newer unrelated news:
