I like Brohm, but this belongs in the 50/50 category. Both of their QBs had serious injuries last season.

This also belongs on the 50/50 list. Snyder should have his best team since the Collin Klein years.

I thought there was a rule about scheduling that required one OOC P5 or independent opponent. Maybe Arkansas had someone cancel.

I considered it, but I just couldn't get over how Purdue boat raced them in Columbia last season. Purdue lost a lot on defense, but I think Mizzou may regress on offense with Dooley instead of Heupel.

All I was able to watch of Kansas State last season was their bowl and a little of their Vandy game, so I will take your word for it on this one.

I think they were supposed to go to Michigan to open the season but Michigan pulled out to schedule Notre Dame and renew a classic rivalry. Can't really blame Michigan for that one.

your answer is below...

The Hogs don’t face a Power 5 opponent in the nonconference despite being required to do so per SEC rules. The reason: Michigan bought out its home-and-home contract with Arkansas for 2018 and 2019 in July 2016. Due to the late cancellation, Arkansas submitted a waiver to instead play Colorado State and received approval from the SEC.

We tend to limp out of the gate so I’m not expecting much. But we do return a starting QB which is rare. Our O-line sucks so it’s a wash.

I’m betting no one had Troy listed for LSU last year.

We do tend to limp out of the gate...it drives me nuts. Every year Gus is excited and confident coming out of summer camp..and every year, it seems, we are not ready to play on offense. If it weren't for our defense, I'd feel 75% certain we'd lose this one. I'm 60/40 we'll pull this off because our D is going to be salty...Browning has not done well against top D's. But I still worry...I'm certain we'll have to put some points on the board and there's no telling, the way Gus's offenses tend to stumble in game one. Saban on the other hand...holy shite, their team is READY....they tend to stub their toe mid/late season

I would be very worried about KSU, but we get them week 2. They will be breaking in a new QB, and while their O-line is their biggest strength, I can’t see them running the ball against our D-line at will. They are super thin at Linebacker, which is a perfect recepie for Fitz. Not to mention they lost their best WR and CB. Early Big 12 predictions have them around 4-6 in the conference which would be about 8th in the SEC. Should be a great game though.

Washington scares the shite out of me. They have one hell of a coach, and if we are still "experimenting" with our line, it could be a long day.

I think Clemson rolls A&M.

But I will be cheering for the dores against the irish --- I believe in miracles.

An extremely late cancellation put the weenie to us. It should have been a game in Michigan which would have made the OOC schedule very respectable. You just can't line up a P5 opponent with one year to pull off the deal in modern football.

Michigan, it should be noted, just pulled the same thing against Va. Tech and dropped them in favor of playing a Sun Belt team. Muck Fichigan.

That having been said Colorado State early in the season on the road is not going to be a fun matchup for the Hogs. We will probably still be putting the pieces together with our offense and its the biggest game Colorado State has hosted in decades.

Honestly, this is not a bad year for Arky to have an easy OOC schedule.

Better to have easy wins than good losses.
