Alabama isn't the best job, but they do have the best football tradition in the conference.

I put them ahead based upon facilities, money and a rabid fan base. I think our fan base is great, but would we put up with "Yell Leaders"?
They also have a fertile recruiting ground, although it is also offset somewhat by all the major programs in their state and Oklahoma and LSU poaching.

Bama from the Bear's last NCship to Saban is not much different than UGA from 1980 until now. Look at how much tradition is helping UTK right now. It's doing wonders for Michigan as well.

I don't think he is a Georgia fan.

LSU should be top 4-5 because of in-state talent and being the only big boy in the state, and being so close to the east TX recruits. But it has sullied a bit with Alleva tanking it. When another coach comes along who knows what they are doing, it'll be a quick turnaround. If.

Georgia is the best job because the expectations seem high but the fans will settle for less the other big 6 fans besides Tennessee.
The best job to have if winning championships is more important then UF and Bama are the best .

I agree. that's why I initially put LSU at #5 and said they could arguably go to #4. I honestly believe LSU, Auburn and Georgia could all make arguments.

They should be. In the past the issue wasn't talent, it was coaching and an inability to get that talent into school due to grades. The State of LA has made some big advances in education over the last 20 years, the problem has been some of the coaches that LSU hired.

Alabama is the best job in the SEC. Nobody else in conference is even close.
It resides in a worse town, in a worse, state, with worse recruiting.
Yet that state got man to the moon, and back, along with having one of the 4 of the largest research parks in the world.

This is false. Historically Alabama is the top SEC program, but what's being done in Tuscaloosa is also achievable in Athens or Baton Rouge with the correct coaching staff.
While on the surface that is true, I am not sure it is possible. Alabama has done it twice now, yet no other SEC program has come close to doing it once.

I think Saban would have been just as successful at LSU, A&M, AU, UGA and UF.

I generally don’t agree with him but in this case I do. Maybe he wouldn’t have won 5 NCs in those schools, but he certainly still would have won way more then anybody else in the country.

I left off UT because I think it would have been a slower start for him in recruiting. I also think he could have had more NCs at TX and USC.

UGA Football...where doing Less with More is a football tradition..........it is documented.
Just a reminder the annual UGA pre-season NC banners will be delivered no later than July 4. One per family as usual.

Well Tidefan I'm surpried. You must not be as tuned in as most Bama fans are to what Nick Saban is saying. He very plainly stated that Georgia was the best job in the country very, very recently. In plain english and it was pretty widely reported. And of course it is.
Georgia has the most BIG TIME athletes of ANY STATE! And he school has a wildly supportive admin of a super aggressive staff and united alums. That resulted in n astounding recruiting class this past signing period. Unlike any EVER recorded since such data has been kept. And it wasn't close.
Now we'll see if Kirby can coach 'em. Keep 'em working. and off to class and showing up for the tutoring and paper writing and so on in the non-jockology required classes that students have to take.
