if Saban had stayed at LSU........we would be talking about on two decades of dominance. Saban GOAT coach.

You'd be wrong and pet capita is an idiotic stat that means mothing.Per participant is a much better yardstick and Florida and Georgia are usually 1 and 2 in that category.

But interestingly states like Florida and Texas don't usually do as well on a per capita basis compared to some smaller states that are less heralded.
Why does per capita even MATTER if one state produced 35 bluechips compared to another smaller that produces 10?
State of Georgia produced more NFL draft picks than any other state in 2017.I imagine it would
lead in " per capita" draft picks for all the states but WGAS?Jusy means the state produces a ton good players...par capita or not.

I'd also argue that the pool of contenders for those recruits matters more than per capita, too.
I'd much rather be in a state that produces 5-10 blue chippers a year that I have a near monopoly on than be in a state that produces 35 per year that I'm fighting 8 schools for.

I'd love to hear specifically how Saban would be any less able to win championships at AU, UGA, UF, or more at LSU than he is at Bama.
Bama hired two legends in Bryant and Saban...no one argues that. But those legends could have had similar runs at any of the schools listed above. There's nothing in the water in Tuscaloosa that makes it unique from the others.
Would those schools relinquish control of their program to Coach Saban? Would those schools AD's back away and give Coach Saban a blank check? Would those schools Alumni keep their noses out?
Some how I highly doubt it.......

It's the first time I've seen the guy. And he started a thread about Georgia with dog in his name, so it is understandable.

Depends if your talking about Instate competition or not.

You'd be crazy then.Your FAR better off with more blue chips in your state than not...where are you gonna go sign players after your 5-10 are taken ?I can promise you're not gonna monopolize those 5-10 anyway unless you're maybe LSU.

Of course I am 100% wrong! I just got confused and let the talent scouts who do that stuff for a living muddle my brain.
Dude. I just gave you a link giving you the statistics on exactly how many of those players are in each state. Those ratings were given by the scouts. So, yes. You were 100% wrong. Show me a link where all the "talent scouts" say Georgia has more than any other state in the nation.
quote:You didn't even look at the link I provided, did you?
Remember we are talking "elite" players.
The title of the article is :All 50 states, ranked by their percentage of the country's elite college football recruits
quote:Because Auburn, Alabama, Clemson, Florida, FSU, USC, Tennessee do not recruit in Georgia do they?
In-state Georgia competes against air mostly although Tech is a significant presence.
Come on dude. Give it up. You have been proven wrong on just about every single point you've made. You have given your opinion and when I showed you actual stats you want to pretend you didn't see it? (I guess that is what you are pretending)

I don't like calling a single job the best. I works better in tier systems.
Tier 1: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU
Tier 2: Auburn, Tennessee, Texas A&M
Tier 3: Arkansas, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Mississippi State
Tier 4: Missouri, Kentucky, Vanderbilt
MSU would've been a tier 4 school until Mullen came

Already surpassed them dumbfrick. Here ya go
This is for FBS recruits and we should surpass them in blue chips next year.Participation rates are WAY down in California and other states like Ohio and Pennsylvania as well amd ALL have bigger populations and no where near the number of FBS or P5 signees.

Just let em go man. LSU fans in particular LOVE to tout "per capita" recruiting rankings which sounds nice but in reality means nothing. Here's an extremely simplified example.
-State A is pretty small and has 50 high school senior football players in it. 25 of those guys are 4 or 5 star recruits
-State B is much larger and has 1000 high school senior football players. 200 of them are 4 or 5 star recruits
Hey, per capita State A is off the charts! 50% of all players looking to play college ball are blue chippers..insane! While State B has but a measly 20% that meet the same criteria, peanuts compared to State A.
But in reality, there isn't a single state in america that would rather have A than B, because all that matters is the raw numbers. 200 blue chippers beats 25 blue chippers and it's not even remotely close. The "per capita" argument is just a crutch for smaller states to make it look like they are higher in the "talent-rich states" pecking order.

Mississippi and Louisiana have the largest black population

Not gonna search through the posts so sorry if already mentioned but Bama doesn’t have to compete with professional teams, either.
Bama has screwed it up but no comparison. UGA is probably not even 3rd best in the SEC.

LSU has a lot of similar things going for it.
Talented state
No instate competition. UGA has more players to choose from obviously because t has a much bigger population, but they also have a lot more schools nearby who can pull kids away. Kirby is going to be dangerous if he can cherry pick the state.

in regard to what, best job?
I'd love to hear the 3 teams that are better jobs than UGA.

That is an interesting article. I wonder if they took into account top tier recruits, or all recruits? It looks to be all recruits. It'll be interesting to see how it goes in the coming years.

No just FBS (as stated) easy enough to look blue chippers on 24/7 but a little more difficult
for P5.I did find 1 list that had Ga with 147.
