It's a tricky balance for Aranda's quest to become LSU's next head coach.

He will want his defense to perform well, but not well enough to win. It will be interesting to watch how he pulls this off, because no one will want to promote the DC from a 6-6 team. I'm thinking if LSU can go 8-4 and lose close games because of their offense, Aranda can make it happen.

that might be the dumbest fricking thing I have ever read on here. And it's no surprise it came from a gump.

Alleva remains AD. LSU sucks and Orgeron resigns mid-season due to criminal charges for beating up a fan. Aranda takes over as interim and team is much better.

I'm still waiting for someone to justify the decision not to promote him to HC when Les was R-U-N-N-O-F-T.

Orgeron losing to A&M.

Orgeron can lose to A&M and still keep his job if LSU goes 8-4.

The justification Alleva would no doubt give you is that he was unproven and unknown. Yet he promoted someone with a proven and known record of failure.
The fact that we went from Skip MF'ing Bertman to Alleva is sickening.

This might be the first thing you have said about LSU football that I actually agree with.

Alleva on the way out as we speak.

SEC Rant needs to keep up.

Top 3 in the pecking order in 2019 if O bombs in 18. (Kiffin-Fleck-Norval)

Fleck and Norval must have kick arse seasons though to be viable candidates though.

Yep, throw Aranda's name in there too.

Lots of PO'ed, fed up and out of patience people surrounding the program now, even before the season starts..........

Year 2023. Ed Ogeron has just been elected to the governor of Louisiana after winning 5 straight national championships. The streets of Baton Rouge run brown with gumbo. Aranada finally becomes HC.

But this might be the most idiotic thing I have ever seen on here, and thats saying something.

No, it makes perfect sense. If Aranda's defense is dominant to the point of a 10 win or better season, that saves Orgeron's arse.

If the defense ISN'T good, you don't consider Aranda.

Personally, I think Aranda's got a limited opportunity now. I think it has to be an interim path, and then undefeated as interim. Otherwise, I think the next HC at LSU will be a known commodity.
