But I think at the end of the day, everybody has career decisions that they’ll have to make.- Coach Saban
This comment right here leads me to believe or at least think that Jalen is headed out at some point in the near future as a transfer. The dad's comments make me tend to believe that he didn't like the answers he got in the talk with Saban following the 2nd scrimmage and he was venting. I know you want to protect your kid, but as a coach too, you need to see the writing on the wall.

I wish someone would get Ridley, Foster and Simms' response. I have a feeling it would be different than Damien's

I see what you did there. Calvin's body language for those 15 games last year tells ANYBODY what they need to know about #2's passing skills.
I was hoping (from a selfish point of view) that #2 would stick at Bama thus giving the team a really good backup option at QB for 2018. I believe #2 will transfer at the end of this school year and I have NO problem with that.

No doubt. Damien quoted about all the wins. That is what every Hurts apologists use when defending his shitty play. We made the playoffs the last two years on the backs of elite defense and elite skilled players surrounding him. I appreciate his contributions and I will root for him over the next three years at whatever school he decides to play for but I am ready for Tua.

Im gonna trust that coach and mr hirts' conversation was way different than what the article spun it as. It was clickbait to create a distraction and it worked as far as the fanbase. I will trust coach and what he told wjox this morning. This whole thing has really gotten stupid.

Doesn’t matter what any of them think in reality, all that matters is what coach thinks.

That goes for anything Bama football related.

I don't get why people are so obtuse to not understand the comments about supporting Jalen last year. The players job isn't to make personnel decisions. Their job is to play their position with who the coaches put out on the field. Why would someone say they don't think Jalen should be the starter? It just creates noise.
Jalen isn't a NFL QB. The win argument is terrible because Saban has made a career of taking terrible QB play all the way. Jake Coker and Blake Sims were worse than Hurts, but they still had successful seasons. If you lose your job because you get pulled at half for a true freshman as a 2 year starter during the natty you are done. NFL fans wouldn't even be having this discussion. Saban's goal now has to be to keep Hurts as a back up because our depth at QB is suspect without him.
The issue with transfers of any position is the fact if you can't earn playing time at Alabama you aren't playing in the NFL. QB takes that statement to another level. If he wants to go to FAU or GT to have a good college career go ahead, but no one wants a QB who consistently underperforms vs good teams. Especially when you have the arsenal of Alabama at your disposal.

Jalen will be ok in the long run, he loves Alabama and has given his best on and off the field and kept his dignity and class despite being treated like shite by a segment of our fanbase, he has to do what's best for his future ultimately but my hope is he stays and helps us.

Would be great but I don't think his dad could be any clearer that he will definitely transfer this fall after he loses the job to Tua.

I agree.. His dad seems to be running the show. I wonder if Jalen would've been opened to changing positions, and if his Dad was against it. He seems to have his own agenda for Jalen. ( which is what he thinks is best of him) and lets not forget he was his coach. I only say this cause you know Jalen isn't happy about his dads comments to the public. Its a un needed distraction and extra pressure. Behind close doors Saban is shaking his head saying why make this more public. I wish the best for him though, if its for Bama or Elsewhere.

His dad is 100% right. He shouldn't have gone public, but Jalen could start at a lot of D1 schools. Why stay at Alabama just to be a career back up?

Everyone already knew he was gonna transfer. Well, anyone with a smidge of common sense. Some folks actually thought he could change positions but that idea is more foolish than sticking around to keep the bench warm. Which 4 or 5 star do you boot from the two deep elsewhere for Hurts. Even if Jalen has elite measurables for another position like H-back or safety, it would take some time to learn to play there at a high level and by the time he learned it there is still the issue of beating out other skilled athletes for playing time.
Bottom line here is that he is gone sometime early in the fall. Saban had no choice but to play him in 2016 and probably stuck with him too long last year but it would take a fool to continue to play the guy with what looks like a possible future first round pick sitting on the bench.
Good luck to Jalen Hurts at his new school. Hope he wins the job there and goes on to break records and win a lot of football games.

I agree he will be good at GT or Barn type offense..but the fact he took it public was a very bad move. It added more pressure on Jalen and wasn't needed. Plus I'm sure Saban wasn't happy about it.. He doesn't like that kinda drama. He likes to keep it close to his chest, and keep it within the team. Either way.. after today I think we all know what will happen next. I still think Jalen could change positions and have a better shot at NFL. He won't make it as a QB..the league would chew him up
His fathers advice needs to be.. get a good degree. His leadership and coolness would be great in business.

My first thought as well. If he could make the right read and sadly I think that is a big if, he would be a monster in that offense.
