“"Coach Saban's job is to do what's best for his team. I have no problem with that," Averion Hurts said. "My job is to do what's best for Jalen—and make no mistake, Jalen is a quarterback, and he wants to play quarterback. He loves Alabama, loves Coach Saban and everything about that place. Wish he hadn't said it publically, but it's not like this is breaking news. Everyone knew this would probably be the case. And he said it in a way that was very respectful of Alabama, the team, etc. and totally understandable from Jalen's POV.
Hope everything works out regardless of how it goes. Jalen is a great kid and a helluva competitor.

Ya and he could certainly help out some team at qb with the right OC / offensive system. That said, i think Tua's hand injury has shown that depth is much needed.

They better make sure Mac doesn't leave. He will be second string sooner rather than later.

I'll never blame a kid for not wanting to spend any of his limited eligibility on the bench if he can play somewhere else
Most of these kids will never play competive football after their college days. This (transfer) may be their last shot to get on the field and nothing wrong w taking it
As long as they respect the school/program/coaches, it is completely understandable

I think this was poor form by Averion Hurts. This isn’t breaking news but what does going public accomplish? It won’t help Jalen’s chances and it just puts everyone, including his son, in an awkward situation.
And the hyperbole about being the biggest free agent in CFB history doesn’t help his son either.

I agree with the sentiments as well. Poor form on Averion's part.
All that aside, isn't it all these kids dreams (for the most part) to make it to the NFL and make a ton of money? I see Jalen, much in the same way of Tebow. Jalen is an amazing leader and tough as nails. His best chance of playing at the next level is going to be somewhere other than QB.

Any true to this:
And this just proves what many of us already knew. Jalen is not a team player, Jalen is all about Jalen. There are more than one reasons he lost the locker room. His ability and his attitude for starters.

As Jalen's biggest critic on the field, I'll say that's bullshite. He seems like a genuinely good dude, and a good teammate. I don't know if I'd call him a "great leader" as some have, but then, most players aren't.

I really hope you're the only one that thinks this. He'd be a dumbass if he wanted to play behind Tua for his remaining years of eligibility when he can easily start for a majority of D-1 programs. Some of y'all try your best to justify hating on a college kid.

While I don’t like what his dad did and I’m all aboard on the Tua train, Jalen Hurts is a first class guy.

Guys.. I asked if it was any truth to that statement.... I didn't say that. A guy on Twitter claiming to be close to the team said that and I was asking you guys... smh

Quotation marks and clarification would've been helpful in your original post.

If that's what you got from that story, you may want to read it again.

I'm glad that is what you meant, it just doesn't read that way initially.

Jalen has handled everything with class. I hate that his dad said all of that. I understand that it's a parent's job to look after the best interest for their child. This interview wasn't in Jalen's best interest.
