By the current metrics, Ole Miss currently has the #1 recruiting class in the nation.
Yes, that is something I am and can be excited about.
Yes, I realize it is April and that there is a lot of time left to go.
No, I nor any of the fans on this board expect to stay #1 by any means.
Yes, this was a dumb comment that you made.

Good luck to Moorhead. I hope he has success in Starkville and that State is competitive in the coming years. However, he must bow to the mighty Matt Luke

MSU just landed another OT, something we will be in need of soon. Moorhead staff doing nice work.

Pank, you and I both know you have some sign and place guys on your commit list. No way they qualify but hey, after Ncas stuff, it's probably smart to give a good look early.

Nope. April recruiting matters now. Those are the rules.

No school should focus solely on instate talent. I know Mississippi has a good JUCO farm system and good instate talent but State should always be looking to pull kids from elsewhere.
Pruitt isn't high on TN's 2019 HS class for some reason. I think it's probably because he has better contacts and a head start with recruits elsewhere. Supposedly, he is high on the 2020 class. Regardless, the 2019 class would be a good one for State to take advantage of. TN is loaded with 4*s that for reasons I can't explain our head coach isn't that into and OM which would normally steal some of those recruits is down.

Recruiting in April doesn't matter.
For State fans, it's happy to see any activity in April based on the previous recruiting efforts.
None of it matters till you see the kids on the field actually playing. Grats on your #1 in April though

The one thing I like are recruits who have made visits who are in awe of the staff and the way things run. Good sign early.

Hearing same thing at UF. Good sign early.

Mullen will be good for UF after one year and who knows, might shock some people his first year. He can coach up a QB and players around him.
MSU is excited because we have not had a coach reaching far away for recruits. I think its a win for both programs.

I agree. I think Mullen was stale at State. He'll be really good at UF. But it was time. Joe Moorhead, on paper, is going to be just fine. And may elevate the program due to motivation.

Let's be honest shall we....MSU has peaked. Mullen took the bulldogs to full maximum heights . They can't won't do better than what he did. They will never win the SEC. THAT WAS their full potential. Dak was a once in 100 year qb for state.

Except kick the chit out of SC.

They may have some commit and place but sign and place is over with, see new hard 25 limit.
From my understanding of the new rules s&p now will hit you twice on the 25 limit, just not worth it except for extraordinary circumstances.
OM is already down schollies s&p now would be a issue in 2 years if they go that route.

Not paying attention to recruiting, I see. I know it's early, but Moorhead's staff is building some momentum on the trail. Charles Huff is also one of the best recruiters in the country. This upcoming season should only help that if Moorhead can coach.
