Auburn starts spring practice tomorrow. Tho this year it doesn't have my usual attention thanks to a championship race in basketball right now

Anyway might as well get a thread going

Here's practice schedule

AUBURN, Alabama — Auburn will not practice on consecutive days this spring, according to a schedule released Thursday.

Auburn is set to begin practices March 1, the first of 15 days of spring camp that includes two major scrimmages and the A-Day intrasquad scrimmage.

Auburn is scheduled to conduct major scrimmages on two Saturdays: March 24 and 31. The A-Day game is April 7 inside Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Auburn is expected to practice twice following the A-Day scrimmage, but those dates were not included on the schedule released Thursday via Twitter.

Auburn will practice four times before taking a 12-day break coinciding with the university's spring break. The Tigers return to practice March 20.

All practices are expected to be closed to the public.

Gus Malzahn enters his sixth spring as the Tigers' head coach following a 10-4 finish and SEC West Championship in 2017. Auburn knocked of then-No. 1 Alabama and Georgia near the end of the season before losing the final two games of the season in the SEC Championship Game (Georgia) and the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl (UCF).

Projecting Auburn football’s depth chart heading into spring practice (SECCountry)
quote:

AUBURN, Ala. — Defending SEC West champion Auburn football returns to action Thursday with the start of spring practices.

Over the next month and some change, the Tigers will begin the process of figuring out what they will be in 2018 under coach Gus Malzahn. Position battles will start to take shape. Newcomers will get their first chances at impressing coaches and teammates. New stars will emerge.

To get fans ready for the start of camp, here is a composite depth chart from the spring practice position-by-position previews that have been on SEC Country for the past couple of weeks.

This depth chart — which is ultimately a best guess — will change quite a bit over the next few weeks and into the summer and fall months. SEC Country will have an updated depth chart with its stock report each week in fall camp. For now, though, here’s how the Tigers project heading into March.

As wide open as the RB race has been in a long time.

Honestly could see any of them winning the starting spot

Then we add Shivers & Joiner in the fall. Lots of different options

Me neither. We never get any information from Paranoid Gus. And A-day is a joke, so I'm not following it this year.

So what key player do we randomly learn today is either suspended or kicked off the team as is tradition for Gus's opening spring practice press conference?

I'm going with Jauntavius Johnson with the transfer route. Hope I'm wrong as we need the DT depth, but he is my first pick.

I want him to as well

With his injury issues, I just see it being a decent possibility.

So you would rather take your chances it's a player that actually contributes gets the boot?

I don't check every thread but in case it hasn't been mentioned Paul James has already been looking for a spot to transfer.

Doesn't surprise me. Have a feeling Coe, Moultry & Bryant are all ahead of him on depth chart. He's a solid player but not sure there's I want him taking snaps away from any of the above guys along with Marlon Davidson

Anyone else get invited to the March 27th practice via TigersUnlimited? Sounds like a fun time...
