To borrow a line from Westwood... "Oh, you pay for it. The only difference is that our rates are fixed and posted on the door."

Or get our baseball program in hot water with the NCAA along with sleeping around.

Great first win of the season. Time to keep up this road trip.

I did not plan on following this team closely till around March or April, I still do not actually. But with all of this drama, it is hard not to get sucked in.

I will be closing off this drama by saying this, I cannot believe this happened. But it is apparent the coach that won in Hattiesburg in June was not the same person we saw in Hattiesburg in February. This might be one of the most embarrassing things Mississippi State Baseball has had happened to it.

I feel good with Henderson this season, at least I know he will actually coach. Feels weird to see him as States coach after seeing him at Kentucky for so long. And I do hope for his sake he is considered for the job if he does well. With the crap he has put up with, he deserves it.

Funny, a week ago we were talking about how in the Big 4 sports, we were all happy with our coaches in probably the first time ever. And then out of complete nowhere. Bam.

State Baseball is bigger than one person. This is a top 10 job, maybe even top 5. No I am not the typical State fan who acts like we are gods in baseball when we have never even won the national championship. But I also understand that is not the biggest thing. Take USC. 12 National Titles, 21 CWS Appearances, but only 1 NCAA Tournament in the past 13 years. They may not even be a top 20 job. I respect the investment, fan support, and commitment, Mississippi State illustrates. Not many programs have it. So we are certainly near the top. But I cannot say we are the best at a sport when we have not even won the freaking thing. And part of that is Polk's fault. Where has he been since 2008? I can tell you one thing, not around Starkville. What an absoulute joke. And it seems like Skip Bertman is at the Box every other weekend. He makes me want to take his name off the stadium. He asked for it after all.

I do not put this on Cohen in the slightest. He thought he would be able to find the next up and comer. He did. No one thought he would let the fame get to his head. In the end it's Andy's fault, not Cohen's.

I am ready to move forward with this. Well, first thing is first. Wrapping up Basketball. I may comment here or there, but see you guys when Basketball Wraps up.

I think overall for the athletic department this may have been a blessing in disguise. Sounds like this was an issue before Cohen started looking for Mullen’s replacement, so I believe it significantly shaped our football coaching search. If you recall, Cohen stresseed he was looking for someone intelligent and with character. Sounds like he realized then while he may have made the right hire between the lines for baseball character-wise he picked a sack of monkey crap and wasn’t going to make the same mistake in football.

Our baseball program can recover without missing a beat. Something like this could’ve set our football program back 10 years.

Knowing all of this anyone want to speculate on who might be a few realistic candidates? Outside of the given's like Butch and Ming.

I agree. On a scale of 1 to 10, this seems like a 1 to me. If this had happened in football or basketball, it would have been a really big deal.

2018 was always going to be a strange year with the stadium flux. It just got a tad stranger, and I do mean a tad.

Not sure who we go after but one would think a LOT of coaches out there would jump at the chance to coach in a brand new 50 million dollar baseball facility. Last time Cohen zeroed in on Cann and had to make the hire in the Fall when most sitting HCs would not want to move. This time he has the entire baseball season to find his guy before making the hire.

Because it is all about agents now, anyone that wants the job can let their agent do the footwork, and they can concentrate on their own team.

I listened to a Henderson interview yesterday, and I think we are lucky to have had him in place when this all went down. His organization and maturity level made this transition about as smooth as it could have been handled.

Seems like the Louisville guy would be the guy to go after. Normally I would say he would not leave but it's pretty messy over there.

The 3 game sweep was pretty good and much needed. Obviously going to have to play a lot of small ball this year. The pitching seems to be coming around, so there is a chance.

Another solid win last night as Rowdey cranks a grand slam to put the Dawgs up on NMSU with a 6-0 win. Gary now leading the team to a 5 game winning streak. Dawgs are poised for a solid opening weekend series at the NewDude against Utah Valley. Remember, it’s not how you start, it’s how you finish. I think CGH will bring a lot of maturity to this young team. The inexperience will show, but something special is in the making in Starkville.

Agreed, NMSU is one of the better hitting teams in the country through the first couple of weeks. Good to see some success on the mound against a some what formidable opponent on the offensive side of the lineup.
