Not sure who we go after but one would think a LOT of coaches out there would jump at the chance to coach in a brand new 50 million dollar baseball facility. Last time Cohen zeroed in on Cann and had to make the hire in the Fall when most sitting HCs would not want to move. This time he has the entire baseball season to find his guy before making the hire.

IF anything like that happened then you are probably right. RW never got another basketball job and he was a Final Four coach.

Apparently Tulane knew him much better than we did. Always wondered why they passed on him for their baseball job given he was their alumnus.

Overall I was a little disappointed in what I saw out of Hill this year. Maybe I expected too much out of him but I was hoping to see a few explosive runs from him sometime over the year but never really did. Did we have a RB go for a 30 to 40+ yard TD run all year?

Yep, in '14, '15 and '17 we came out completely unprepared for OM at least partly because Dan was too busy checking out his other job prospects all week. In '16 we were 4-7 coming into the Egg Bowl and stomped the crap out of OM because Dan had no other job prospects.

Just me, but if a guy hasn't committed publically then he hasn't committed. Not a fan of the "private" commitment because a player can privately commit to 5 different coaches and none would be the wiser. While I like where MSU stands, we will likely find out with Gay on signing day his true intentions.

Yep, Mullen and the entire staff did the Golden Triangle tour yesterday visiting Hill, Gay and Reed. As far as Bulovas, I don't think any of the State folks ever anticipated Bama offering him a full ride. Apparently they did so no shocker that he took it.

I don't think we will really know anything on Bowie until he is done with his trip to Bear land. If he was really going to flip the easier thing would have been to go ahead and switch his commitment to MSU and not visit OM. He didn't do that which makes me think he is still unlikely to sign with MSU.

Shouldn't be all that difficult to exceed expectations this year. Most pundits aren't expecting much of anything from us post-Dak. Guess I can't feel too hard at them though as most non-MSU fans likely can't name a player on our team at the moment.

So what's the deal with Fitz? I hear all of these references to not mature, hasn't won the huddle, has off the field issues but never any specifics. Is he just unlikable? Is he a party animal? What is it about him that makes folks say these things? I mean Joe Namath was about as immature and had about as many off the field issues as you could possibly have but was one of the greatest QBs ever. Could also say some of the same things about guys like Jim McMahon and Ben Roethlisberger.

Should be fairly cloudy most of the weekend so hopefully the heat at 1:30 on Friday won't be a big factor.
