Don't judge Auburn fans by trolls like AU24/Rabern/IP.

Exactly! The dude came in and was basically handcuffed. He could only sign 16 recruits and had zero time to do much of anything.

2 months, I believe.

Bieliema inherited a bigger mess and finished with a 23 ranking

5: 0 4: 4 3: 18
5: 0 4: 2 3: 15

17 players though is going to hurt him more than anything. YEs you will be able to recruit more next year, but that puts him another year behind. with a 3-5 year cycle now for coaches, that is not good. hopefully he will be able to get a grad transfer or two. How many players on schollies do yall retain?

I don't think Bielema inherited a class ranked in the 90's when he took over though. Allen and Henry, two 4*, were already committed. Morris only kept 4 players that were committed to Bielema.

Because he signed 25 versus 17 for Morris.

The average star rating for Bielema’s first class was 84.95 compared to 86.29 for Morris.

We’re two over the 85 now with this 17 so a couple more folks for sure have to go. I imagine it will be more than that once they see where they fall on the depth chart.

Yep. He’s going to have to cut some folks. Bielema was only planning on signing 14-15 and Morris went over that.

Chad Morris is a solid coach. He will implement an offense that lets 3* recruits thrive. Arkansas will be a 7-8 win team every year (starting in 2020 probably), with the occasional 9 or 10 win season.
That’s what Arkansas is as a football program in the SEC

Agree 100%. These next 2 years are going to be really rough for Arky (like 3-9/4-8 bad) but when Morris gets his players in they will be a 8 win program with a 10 win season every now and then

Yeah Bielema was actually a pretty good recruiter compared to Nutt and Petrino but his roster management (and in-game personnel management) were horrible. Felt like we never played our best players at times.

Fans are going to have to be patient with Morris.

You are going to have a heavy experienced laden year that might produce results, then a dropoff. Fans need to be prepared for that

Absolutely terrible. I honestly think he’s left us in worse shape going forward because of roster issues than we were in after the JLS year.

Our average player rating per defensive player was the highest we've had in 10 years. Which is sad.

Chad Beat Your Team as OC at Clemson both times he coached against AU.

The guy was hired Dec 6th to a program that has been in a bad way for several years.

I guess you don't know how that who recruiting thing works...

I'm curious to see what happens to Clemson after next year. Granted they're bringing in really talented kids, but they signed 31 kids or so over the past 2 seasons... I pointed it out myself on here before the class was in the books, but Bud Elliot just wrote about it in his 10 thoughts article... they have essentially given themselves zero wiggle room. They'll be able to take up to 30 in the next class, but unless they've had a ton of kids redshirt that are going to stick around for the long haul, they're going to hit attrition issues more than likely.

As unpleasant as it may be, coaches need to sign close to a minimum of 20 kids each year, even if it means some processing has to happen... at least that leaves no more than the number of spots that you can back-count into in any given year if you need to fill more than expected, and still averages out to 100+/5 years... accounting for normal attrition, this should be doable to stay at or around 85 scholarship players (that you want).

ETA: Fair exception in year one here for Morris for example, where you're on a short timeline to get kids... no reason to throw out offers to kids that you're pretty confident won't be able to contribute.

It's ok, armyhogs, I'd be pissed too if the best coach I'd had in the last 30 years of my program allowed his love for moto-hoes to ruin his tenure
