Who is the former HC being interviewed for the DL position anyone know?

Just saw that on Twitter, interesting.

He interviewed a while back so not sure why it's making news now unless he's coming back in for another interview which would be alarming.

I thought that was for DC and not DL.

They might move Tosh to DL and let Chiz coach LBs
Posted on 2/17/18 at 3:37 pm to Cobrasize
I'm not sold. Chiz is a fantastic defensive coach, but he just supposedly retired. I dont want someone who is not energized and only half in it.
Everyone here likes to talk about the systems differences with Saban and Chiz, but you have to remember Saban was actually a 4-3 guy originally. That part doesn't concern me with Chizik,it's the energy I'm worried about.

The only positive would be his experience mixed in with the other guys (Tosh, Golding). If Tosh is going to call plays, then maybe Chiz helping would be a positive.
That's the only positive.
That's the only positive.

Chiz would probably be really good, actually. Is Saban trying to interview EVERY possible candidate before making a decision? I'm waiting on my call.

Saban is adding to his rolodex and gearing up to unleash hell for the next fifteen years.

Former FAU HC and current Pitt Panthers DL coach Charlie Partridge interviewed today.
ETA: Any notion Saban would hire Chizik is silly, imo. He's not a good fit and there's probably no mutual interest.

It's not that Chiz runs a 43, it's that he runs a Tampa 2. A smaller, faster style defense.
Saban says be flexible in style, rigid in fundamentals. That style does clash with Bama's NFL size style defense though...

That's certainly true, but the differences were more in the back end. Their philosophy on the front was pretty similar when Saban ran an attacking 4 man front. Saban went two gap 3/4 later in his career. A Belichik influence imo.
Anyway, I was more meaning that in terms of technique and execution on the DL, Chiz and Saban would be a fine combo. I just worry about Chizik having the fire anymore.
