That is going to happen no matter the coordinator. We are 119 this season. So it will be a step in the right direction.

Not pumping anything. Sorry I’m not freaking out over hiring a guy with Chavis’ resume, or over his defense not doing well in a game where they had an interim coach.

This is common sense but some people just want to melt for the sake of melting I think.
As if Chavis gave two fricks about this game with another deal in place as soon as it ends.

I wouldn't say I'm melting, but it's not a good look whether you have a head coach or not. You still have the same defensive coordinator, and I assume, most all the same players you had all year.
I assume the players still wanted to win, as well.
If I'm still in a job, even knowing I'm going out - I put my best foot forward and do my last gig with the old school as well as I can. For the kids, and for my reputation as well.
So, seriously, I don't know wtf to think about Chavis.

That's all fine and dandy in theory, but that just isn't how it works in bowl games. Teams that lose their head coach whether fired or left for another job, almost always lay a massive egg with an interim staff/HC in their bowl game.
