Just read it over at the coaches board. Not sure what to think about it. I don’t really know the guy.

I like Taggart. He will keep recruiting at or close to what Jimbo recruited. But his Xs and Os will not be close to Jimbo's. They'll win 8-9 games a year under him because of talent and they'll run him out of town because they won't have patience with a black head coach.

Personally think that's a win for the Gators. Believe he's seen as a good recruiter, but lack of significant success may make it harder to sell Tallahassee. Might not impact this year's class a lot, but I like Mullen's chances to keep that series even at worst.

We may want to try and steal some of his recruiters

So he is basically the black Ron Zook.

This is not a good hire for us. It's even worse for Miami.

This. Cristobal owns Dade. He will out recruit us, but out coach... Not worried

Cristobal may not be going to FSU. I think Taggart without Leavitt and Cristobal is far less of a threat on the recruiting trail. His classes at USF were not as great as you may expect, his last was ranked 5th in the AAC behind schools like Temple.

Yeah, TJ's obsession with thinking Taggart is good while Mullen is dogshit is kinda weird. Through the years while Mullen was coaching at MSU, where the Western Division had 3 teams win national championships in his tenure. (Auburn, Alabama, LSU)
Shoot, this year alone they played 3 top 5 teams.
With MSU recruits.
It's weird, because he had a better record than Oregon did this year.

It's almost like TJ, you know, never likes anything the Gators do but always loves everything the Noles do

I don't know. He built WKU and USF up from the ashes. I feel like he'll at least win 10 a year at FSU.

He also outrecruited everyone in those conferences and it still took him a few years -- he seems to consistently lose to teams with less talent due to his coaching.
Also: Dude's never won a bowl game in his HC career.
This is not a good hire by FSU.

either way, i'll take fsu having taggart instead of jimbo. it's not as if the noles were gonna scrape the bottom of the barrel in a coaching search. the noles have been getting top 5 type classes forever anyway. not like taggart is gonna raise the talent level, it's already maxed out.

Stop. When Taggart loses to South Alabama in year 8 at an SEC school let me know

Not this shite again. frick off.

It’s a good hire. Not “great” because he’s a colossal step back from Jimbo as an actual coach.

Winning a bowl game isn't a big deal. Losing to a team that lost to Idaho is.

Dude, Taggart has had some pretty humiliating losses -- like ASU (7 - 5) this year.
He lost to WSU 33 - 10. Just for some perspective: Arizona scored 58 points on WSU.
He lost to Stanford 49 - 7.
He lost to U C frickING L A by 3 possessions.
He lost to Washington by 5.
Taggart got the dog shite kicked out of him almost the entire year, and failed to score more than 14 points in 4 games -- and he's in the PAC-12, man.

He started a walk on for most of those losses. How'd he do when he had Herbert? 6-1 500+ yards a game and 50ppg. We'll see what he has at fsu.
