And now Auburn has to sit at home and watch Georgia and Alabama in the college football playoffs.

This might be the most Auburn Moment in the entire history of Auburn Moments. No other University on the planet could have pulled this off. And the cherry on top of this Auburn Moment has them rewarding the coach that made this happen - a coach that most of them wanted fired for cause - an ungodly pay raise for a long time to come.

Shine on you crazy WarPlainsmenTiger diamonds. Never change.

All a part of the master plan... Lull Auburn to sleep with Kirby and Saban throwing both games, and then hit them when they least expect it. Textbook. Kirby must really love his copy of "The Art of War"

Kirby is playing 4th dimensional quantum chess.

Gus is playing Chutes and Ladders.

We can't help that we have the hardest schedule in the toughest conference. We beat both of you soundly, took some key injuries, limped into the SECCG, and got our asses beat. Discount the fact that we played Alabama while you played an awful GT team all you want - it doesn't change anything.

Grats on making it to the playoffs. Hope you can make something of it.

What is your excuse for blowing a 20 point lead to LSU?.....Bama was beat up going into the Iron Bowl

No excuse. Gus let off the gas after we completely outclassed them.

Oddly enough it was eerily similar to uga SECCG. We lost our best LB, our nickel and our strong safety...as well as 2 starting OL and our 2nd RB was out and our best RB was about 70%. Oh yea, and JS didn't like the Run or Pass options on the RPO's.

I’m not disagreeing with any of that. I’m just saying only Auburn could have pulled that off. You guys are freaks of nature, the exception that proves the rule, the grand anomaly.

Embrace the madness, I say.

I'll poke fun at Auburn for the way it ended but they whipped our arse. They still have the bragging rights there.

And you rewarded that with a big pay raise?

Auburn rewarded Gus for taking what could have been a season-killing loss to a team we should have beaten and turning it around to end up beating two #1's by double digits.

bullshite, Gus did not deserve a raise and an extension, but Sexton worked his magic and struck while the iron was hot. Auburn didn’t want to get into the coaching search parade with a lame duck Jay Jacobs at the helm, so they bowed down to Malzhan/Sexton and paid up.

Rewarded a coach for doing his job? I think accomplishing this is worth the 4 plus million he was making, but a 3 million dollar raise is just crazy.
